Not that I use my PS3 controller with the mod on my PC often, but it will be nice to just use it rather then boot and reconnect every single time. Racing games are about the only thing I use it for anyways.
@JediKnight366 @WeiCaoCao Sure, first, when I say equally judged, that's totally up the staff at gamespot, but I mean it as the standards that they weigh the game against. I can't say what that should be for them, but of all the reviews I watch and read on the site, it's a rather large variety of standards, which when you use a point system to rate a game, there has to be a guideline, it's like saying game A is a 10 cause it didn't have any questionable moments yet game B is a 9 just because it did, frankly it could be flip flopped for anyone in that regard, which I do not believe should be included in deciding a score, and I don't know of anywhere else that would do that. Second, I just finished re watching the GTA 4 review by Justin Calvert, and the GTA:SA review by Jeff Gerstmann, and I would recommend you check them out too, I feel that it would convey my opinion clearly if you compare them. 3 different people, all GTA games that have all equally included the same offensive style satire.
@JediKnight366 Yea, I know I had some ill feeling about it back then, but I'll admit this site has had some interesting reviews that bring across some extremely good reasoning to support their reviews. The issue is that if any review source of any content wants to maintain their integrity, they need to keep their neutrality on the subject. I do not feel that the GTA5 review maintained that integrity. I don't believe it was a trash or invalid review, but there was too much personal feeling to take it as a review that should be distributed to the masses. I don't want this site to be thought of as junk journalism and such in regards to the gaming community as lets say Fox news, like em or not, is viewed by the masses. With that, I'd like to think the review would not of started all this if it had valid points that are equally judged on other games, but it doesn't, it contradicts many reviews on this site alone.
@fredyellowone @dark_surge Yea, absolutely. I don't know and really believe there is much moderation to it, so over the years its turned into this beast it is now. It can be fixed, but it will take some effort on their behalf.
@DIGN @WeiCaoCao Yea, I only provide input these days on things I strongly feel about just because it seems to be a 50/50 chance to get spammed by trolls and just outright rude people, but there is still by far some great community left, and although I wouldn't want this show to end, I would love to see some better control on the message they allow to be conveyed. I worked in gaming retail for years, and I used to reference this site for parents to read up on games for another source, and sadly I stopped a couple years back just because of the comment section alone... but alas, I still have hope.
I really believe that sadly some of the more negative community prevented the message from getting across that a large number of us just felt it was not a quality review. I've been coming to gamespot since like 2004ish for all my game reviews and I really don't have many to complain about over the years, but I will say I feel that some underlining points where taken too seriously, and that the issues that they had is felt by an extreme minority, which very few of the ones that would fit that even visit this site in general. I absolutely agree that sadly this community has become extremely hostile, and outright rude at times, and that many comments to that review sadly skewed the point and feelings that many of us wanted to convey.
"Says Microsoft".... I hate that, I get that companies are excited and want to promote their products, but this whole thing where you say your product is amazing, blah blah blah drives me away from a brand more then anything else, and don't get me wrong, I'm equally against any company doing this, I will never, as I attempt to be an informed knowledgeable consumer, take the manufactures word on stuff like this, If X,Y,Z reputable rating companies in no relation, IE gaming sites and such say that, then sure, I'm more willing to trust their word.
@frylock1987 Kotick is still there yes, but frankly I give him credit for being willing to put up 100 million of his own money in part of this move. Yea the guys made some bad shit happen even in my opinion, but at least he's willing to put the money where his mouth is.
@Banhammered1 @WeiCaoCao Oh, IDC. He's the one that at the end of the day has to live with himself, I could give 2 shits. Someones gotta be ignorant in the world, let him enjoy it.
