I have this problem as well. Any answers out there?

Nevermind, it works now. I don't know why it wouldn't work before...

I just bought Company of Heroes Gold Edition at Best Buy and when I run it it says that I need to download a patch to play online. I started it, and it got stuck a few times (where I had to restart it), but it downloaded. Then it said to close game to install the patch, and it did that right. Now it says I need another patch, and this one starts downloading, but gets stuck at 0 and when I restart it it still doesn't work.

It won't let me play the game at all without an online account and this second patch won't download, please help!

To my knowledge, you can't buy the game used, because of the online component of the game - the online functions really well in Spore too: the game basically loads up with creatures created by other people, and some of those creatures are just insanely imaginative.

The game runs really well on a computer with decent specs, and I'd have to say that if you're a gamer, then you probably owe it to yourself to buy the game new.

Spore is actually under-rated.It's under-rated because for years, before its release, it was over-rated. It was, indeed, so highly over-rated, that when people got their hands on it, they were disappointed that it wasn't The Second Coming, and so under-rated it.

The game's graphics are charming. There's a kind of haze-effect, and you'll see creatures wandering around, all over the world, slightly out of focus, while your own creatures are going about their business - you'll feel the uncanny sensation of Life happening all around you. I loved Spore for that - and that alone is worth the price of admission. I also found each of the four levels to be perfectly balanced. Just as I was beginning to grow tired of the one level, I'd be taken to the next. My 30 hours with this game blew past... just blew past.

I have a fairly good gaming computer, and I borrowed Spore from a friend. It is amazing and I love it, plus the graphics (on medium-high) are terrific and charming.

I looked some more and I think that the registration code can only be used to register/sign up for online content once. I also found that some ebay/amazon listings specifically said that the registration code hasn't been used and it will work perfectly.

I am interested in getting Spore and noticed that you can get it on eBay or Amazon USED for around $15-$25, instead of $40 in stores.

II've heard a lot of stuff about problems with Spore related to not being able to sign up for online content if you have a used copy (maybe something about the registration code already being used). Are these things true? Because it's not worth saving a few bucks getting Spore used if I can't get the online stuff.
