Hero or Villain?

Evening all, hope you're doing well out there...

I seem to be on some sort of roll at the moment. I've finished another Game - not once, but twice. Which one am I talking about? Why, it's inFamous of course! :)

Yeah, I've been playing a decent amount on my PS3 in recent weeks, and it has a lot to do with inFamous and Ghostbusters. Both of those Games have caught my attention long enough for me to slog my way through them, and work my way towards some Platinum Trophies...

But first, my experiences in inFamous. I have to say I really enjoyed this Game. Sure, there's the endless comparisons people seem to be making wth Prototype (another Game I've enjoyed, although not yet finished), but they're simply not the same Game! The morality aspect of inFamous has been suitably interesting - so much so that I went back to see what the "other side" had to offer. :)

One of the trickier (but by no mean impossible) aspects was searching out all the Blast Shards scattered across the city. That, and hunting down all the Dead Drops gave the Game a bit more than just a bunch of bad guys to smash. Oh, and the Stunts were challenging as well - didn't manage to finish that list until my second playthrough. (A word to the aspiring inFamous players out there - if you want to get the three Stunt-related Trophies in the Game, do it while you're playing through as the Hero, and make sure you pay attention to them each time you unlock one. The later in the Game you start trying to complete all the Stunts, the hard it becomes to achieve)

But apart from all the collecting of Shards, Drops and Stunts, the Gameplay was good fun as well. I liked the fact that depending on whether you were Good or Evil you could unlock different powers. Sure, they didn't necessarily change much about how the Game played out - a lightning bolt is a lightning bolt - but they did put a slightly different flavour to the experience.

The story was pretty good as well. I must admit I didn't pick the big twist in the Game (no, I'm not going to spoil it for you) until very late in the piece - possibly my brain is not firing on all cylinders, who knows? Again, the story does change depending on whether you're Good or Evil, even if you still fight all the same bad guys and complete (mostly) the same quests and missions.

The Trophies available in the Game are all definitely achievable with a bit of dedication. After my two playthroughs, I have only two Trophies yet to claim - one of them being the Platinum obviously. A decent amount of them unlock by simply playing the Game, but there are quite a few "completionist" Trophies that require you to collect a certain amount of something, or clear out an entire area of the city.

Overall, I really enjoyed the Game and would happily recommend it to any PS3 owners. So, Tinoshke - does this one meet with your approval yet, or is it simply another Game that I like that you don't? *grin* (And yes, I've already looked at your profile... ;-P)

NEhow, I should get back to playing some BioShock. I've started a new Game, playing through on Hard - first time I've played it since my 360 disappeared last year. I'll let you know when I finish it up, and what I thought when I do, K? (Aiming for 1100 points, although that may take a while - watch this space).

While I bash away at BioShock, make sure that you...

GAME ON! :)
