I am thankful for the plethora of games released recently, as well as Black Friday. I am also thankful for Gamestop's "Buy 2, Get 1 Free Deal" because I got to buy old games at a great price!
I have the Windows 7 beta and Mac OSX on my MacBook Pro, and I must say, I have been liking both. The fact that Windows 7 now searches for drivers automatically is great. It is awesome at finding drivers. It's very clean, and I have enjoyed using it. I suggest others try Windows 7 as well.
I'll have to agree with some of the stuff said on there. We, however, have to look at the fact that these past GTA games were featured on past game systems. I'm sure that if the games were put on a console like the 360 or PS3, it would be comparable graphically. However, in terms of a story, I believe that the GTA IV story is very in-depth and much more compelling than the past ones. Sure they were fun, but I think GTA IV takes the cake in this category. Gameplay, GTA IV has its flaws, but it still surpasses that of the previous GTA games. Overall, I'd have to say that to compare GTA IV and the other GTAs, I would pick gameplay and story > graphics. Graphics are nice, but we can survive without good ones at times.
Although getting points seems a bit dull and stupid, it gives players an incentive to play a game over again, and it also gives more value to the game in terms of like, it let's you get more bang for your buck. You get more fun to play that game and it's just like another side mission that a player has to do in order to get the full effect of the game. I just rent the kiddy games, and especially ones that don't have good replay value if they don't have good multiplayer options. In any case, achievements gives people a reason to get games they gay and it broadens horizons to those who believe that those games are stupid. I've come across games just for the points and I went into the game thinking it's going to be a stupid game, but in fact, it is quite fun.
Vista is basically all for show.... they focused more on the glossiness and the style. I'm sticking with XP until it can prove itself worthy in the next 3 years or so... that is...if I even care of getting another PC...
