Final Fantasy 7 (PSN)- Haven't ever played it...yes I'm serious. Only like 3 hrs in so far.

Killzone 2- Still don't have 3 and trying to drag myself through the bland campaign

Infamous- Gotta finish this up as well before Infamous 2

Battlefield Bad Company 2- Multiplayer.

GAMBIT1551

FF7 is a real treat, as long as you don't mind the bad graphics. :) Fantastic game, and many hours of fun.

BFBC 2 Demon Souls Resident evil That's the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Still, I am trying to find a good Co-op game to play with my girlfriend, and I have heard good things about Enslaved. Anybody else have any games that work in the same manner?

I would have to say both, but I think it boils down to what genre you are talking about. Some games doesn't need a story to be fun, others simply suck because there is no reason for you to be doing the stuff you do. In an RPG you need a better story for the game to work, but games like BF and Turok hardly needs a story at all.

I have played DA:O and the game is great. The demo I tried on DA2 lead me to the same conclusion as far as the story goes. It seems to be a freestanding game, and giving you flashbacks as to what happened in the first. I would still recommend that you played Origins, simply because it is a great game, and has a lot of memorable twists that probably wont be in any flashback. Most of them are made by your own desicions and to get that you would have to play the game yourself. If you later go back, I think you will probably be a little disappointed in the gameplay, after playing DA2. So my advice; play Origins first, then sit down and enjoy DA2.

I just finished reading three of your reviews, all of them rated the games as "bad" games, and one thing practically lept out of my screen as the reason you get so many thumbs down. All three reviews are basically rants about how much the game, developers, gameplay and graphics suck, are amareur(ish), the worst ever, and so on. I would think that even if the game DO suck, and the devs ARE amateurs, you can still write a review of WHY the game sucked, instead of just stating that it sucks, the devs are all idiots who should quit their jobs. I would save the frustration and venting to your own blog, and try to write more balanced reviews, with what was bad, what was good(if anything) and why you would not recommend this game, but rather get some other game that you feel is a better representation of that genre. For example, I have played the FF series from FFVII until FFXIII, and thought some of the games were great, but others not so much. FFXIII was probably my least favorite, because of how the game played, the fact that even after playing for over 20 hours it still feels like you are in the tutorial, the leveling system, and battle system. So yes, I think the devs should have stuck with more of the same as FFVII through FFX, instead of changing directions in FFX-2 and the later games, with a more flowing battle system. I don't need to dump on the game, devs or anything else to get my point across. Just my opinion, and you should by all means keep writing the reviews you like, but since you asked.... :)

The Best Game Ever is an impossible title, since ther is about 10^n opinions about what makes a game great. That being said, I liked MGS4, though not a s much as MGS3, which had it's own flaws. I think Heavy Rain marks a change in gameplay, and I look forward to seeing where it is taking us. Hopefully it wont just dissapear, but continue to produce games that challenge us. I play all sorts of games, and I have my own list of what games are great. For instance, I loved GoW, but not so much DMC, and that is my opinion, not a fact of any sorts. Most games I find have some very desirable elements, but also some fatal flaw that, for me, downgrades it from great to good. Only difference is how much that flaw actually effects gamplay. Having played a lot of different games for a few years, I have decided that a lot of the "flaws" in gameplay and camera control is often deliberate, and what, in the devs mind, makes the game different/better from other games in the same genre. All in all; MGS 4 is, IMO, a great game, but comes up short because of some cutscenes we didn't need, and some easter eggs that should have been better incoorporated in gameplay, instead of making them a separate part of the game. My two cents.

The first "boss" isn't Phalanx. The first one is when you start out, and play for a little while, then you go into the boss fight, and you loose. No matter what. This is how you get to the Nexus the first time. Then you talk to the Monumental, and you meet the Maiden. THEN the actual game starts, and you fight your way through a bunch of enemies, before you meet Phalanx. I agree on reading the wiki, and no matter what build you choose, i suggest you get the falchion from the dark skeleton in 4.1, before fighting Phalanx. This would, however, depend on how strong your character is. The first time I met him, I just got the sword, and didn't bother to fight him. He would have crushed me. I am playing for the first time, and have just gotten a couple of bosses down, so if you need help, or just someone to bounce ideas of, mail me. :) Other than that; good luck. :)

I have to agree with the statement that people playing video games are often lumped together in a stereotype, but so are a lot of other sports. So I find that I really don't care. I do what i like, whether it is kickboxing or playing Demon Souls, and people can say what they want about it. It's easy to blame games when it's the new thing. Like som many things before it. Rock, cars, books, and even religion. I am sure that in time games will be as socially accepted as having a cup of coffee. Even today the military and private companies are using games to train and evaluate their personnel, so we'll get there. Btw very nice video. Good point. :)

I stopped playing for a while, cause I got sick of dying so much, but I have started back up and it's a lot easier now. Just take it slow, be prepared and don't rush in and the game is great. So far I have not found any place where you will just get killed without warning, so all you gotta do is plan it out a bit. Good luck.

Without knowing specifically what happened, it's hard to say. But have you checked all the connections? If your mic is wireless, have you charged it up?
