Anyway, I never really understood the hate that suppressors got...sure, pretty much every single hitman in every movie had them on his gun, and they look cool, but they are actually incredibly practical not just for the person shooting, but for the people around the shooter as well. They do wonders for dampening sound, protecting hearing, and limiting how far sound travels (and what the sound the bullet makes as well, so it doesn't actually sound like a gunshot).
People who shoot (at least from the people ive spoke with) tend to not like them because they can alter a bullets path in unpredictable ways and the reality is they don't really serve and purpose aside from assassinating human beings without being known. Its not something you'd bring hunting as it does not silence enough to not startle anything and practice/professional shooters never use them becuase of how they can alter bullet paths.... sooooo.....
Not to mention owning one of these demonstrates a degree of intent and i dont see many "self defense" arguments being acceptable. "Judge, i feared for my life at that second, if i didnt shoot him, he would have shot me.... So i took out my 45 cocked and locked it, then took out my 9 inch suppressor from the glove box, took the 9 seconds to screw it in, released the lock and then fired"..... Im sure this would fly in Florida but the rest of the nation tends to be a bit more sane on these issues.
While people who shoot at paper might not use them, operators will as they do not want the sound to give away their position. This suppressor is straight from the factory and is integral to the rifle.
The bottom one is an M24 sniper rifle.
