Any word on how the X1 version runs? Yes I know it's the inferior version...blah blah blah. Just want to know if it has framerate issues or rampant bugs.

No reviews yet. All reviews have been for PS4 so far.

If the X1 version turns out to be more fluid I might choose it instead cuz framerate>resolution to me.

Seriously, if they couldn't get consistent framerates at 1080p on PS4 and 900p on X1 then they should have stuck with their earlier targets of 900p on PS4 and 720p on X1. Although the scores are high they'd likely be higher if the framerate was smooth.

Reportedly dipping into the teens fps for PS4, rofl

I had a feeling this might happen once CDR decided to go with 1080p for PS4. 900p I thought it'd do well but 1080p? I don't know, looking at the art and scope of the game it didn't seem to jibe with what I know about PS4. But oh well, Fallout 3 was stuttery as hell and still very fun on X360.

imagine how amazing tw3 would've been if it had BB combat system... can only dream.

Looks like it doesn't need it. 10>9 LOL

What did TW2 got? Something in 8,5 range? didn't change the fact that its combat system was atrocious and you can clearly see that nothing much changed for tw3. Same boring ass attack animation spam with only 2 weapons which both have the same animations.

Atrocious? Seriously, way to exaggerate. Perhaps it could have been better but to say it was "atrocious" is hyperbole.

To me personally? No, not an exaggeration at all. I couldn't stand its combat system and i heard it was EVEN worst in TW1. Da fk are they doing at CDPR? Its like Bethesda and their bs melee system in elder scrolls and fallout games, just soooooooo bad.

Do you even know what atrocious means? No way a game that averages high 80s has an atrocious anything. If it were scoring in the 30s-40s then maybe. Seriously, throwing words around so loosely leaves you with no practical way to describe something that is truly bad. So what is Vampire Rain's combat like then? Supercalifragilisticexpialidociously atrocious?

It's gonna flop soooo hard

It's hyped for a 9/10 on here so an 8/10 would be considered a flop

Exactly, I'm sure it will be a great game but "great" is not going to cut it. People are expecting something perfect...

I think perfection will be impossible with something so huge. They'd probably have to work on it 5 years or more to achieve perfection.

Yeah of course perfection is impossible. Long development time can help in terms of bugs but aside from that it doesn't do much. Financially, I think releasing the game with maybe a few bugs is better that being perfectionists. IT's easier to fix bugs when there are thousands of players experiencing them and describing them, so the team can fix them quickly.

I guess you know by now that Kevin has scored it 10/10?

That means he loved the game, not that it is technically perfect.

I've been seeing complaints about framerate in lots of the PS4 reviews. Can't comment about the X1 version cuz there's been no reviews for it or the PC version so far. Critics are all making a bee line for the PS4 version. From the beginning I suspected that 1080p might be too ambitious for Witcher 3 on PS4. Despite what some people claim it is not a powerful system. Stronger than X1, sure, but that ain't saying much. Maybe they can improve the framerate with patches, don't know, but right now it's looking to me like maybe they should have stuck with their earlier targets of 900p on PS4 and 720p on X1. Framerate stutters won't stop me from getting the game though. I think it will be fantastic even with them just like Fallout 3 was great on X360 despite lots of stuttering. Just saying that if I had a choice I'd take lower resolution for more consistent framerate.

Considering how epic it looks 1 million seems like less than it deserves.

It's an action RPG. I played Witcher 2 and loved it. One of my favorite gen 7 games. Was disappointed when it ended. Luckily the end won't come nearly as quickly with Witcher 3 cuz it's suppose to be much larger.

My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S3. It's got a 720p screen and that is absolutely fine. Thing looks sharp to me. A friend of mine showed me his 1080p Windows phone and I didn't notice any difference with how the display looked. Perhaps if I had squinted and concentrated on it I might have but who uses their phone like that? The faster, newer chips in his phone don't give him any better performance cuz the extra power is wasted running stuff in 1080p. So now we're gonna have phones with 4X the res of 1080p? Better be some monstrous silicon in there to keep up with that.

I ain't saying I'm against advances in technology. I want to see stuff improve as much as anyone. But why not improve things in practical ways? Surely something as small as a phone or even a tablet needs no more pixels than 2 million (1080p). Even that is probably overkill but I'll give the pixel counters benefit of the doubt here and say OK to 1080p phones. But 4K? Seriously?! That's insanity. Imagine how much faster these phones would run if they weren't having to waste enormous amounts of resources drawing everything in absurd resolutions. Keep making the chips better, the cameras better, etc. But when it comes to resolution these companies already hit the ceiling of what is practical a year or two ago and should just leave that part alone.
