That's because processing power keeps getting wasted on resolution. Seriously, 1080p is all ya need. Put the resources into making the art lifelike at 1080p rather than wasting it on 4K or God forbid, even higher.

What, you think it was on a PC? It wasn't. There's a digital foundry analysis of it and it was 900p with frame dips. Granted, it's sure to have gotten better since then.

Yeah, I read an article saying that it's an old PC build. Old because the vid is also old. They filmed it a while ago and released it just now.

I've also read that Witcher 3 is already being sold in stores in the middle east, not that it's suppose to be, and that there's footage out there of people playing the different versions if ya want to look for it. But since these aren't clips approved by CDPR, but rather of anything and everything, ya could ruin the game for yourself by watching them.

The jump from 900p to 1080p is not very large,it's about a 39% increase, that's only 180 horizontal lines of vertical resolution, that's 1,440,000 pixels vs. 2,073,600 with a difference of 633,600. The difference between 1080p and 1440p is 360 lines, 2,073,600 pixels vs. 3,686,400 which is a difference of 1,612,800 and a 75% increase.

Not to mention I have a 144hz refresh rate, be quiet.

Yeah, I've pointed out that the difference between 1080p and 900p is 600,000 pixels before. Superficially 1080p vs 900p doesn't sound like all that much a difference when ya hear it but it's actually bigger than a lot of people would guess.

Whether it did or not narrow victories in NA don't mean much when it's getting crushed in Europe like 3-4 to 1.

Really the only thing I can think of is the achievement system. It's better than Sony's trophy system. Aside from maybe the controller that's all I can think of. Kinda hard to tell people to pick the weaker console when there isn't much difference between the software libraries.

Actually the power advantage the PS4 was supposed to have only translates into a 1080p/900p parity issue with roughly the same framerate performance and they're getting better by the day narrowing that gap. The differences are so small you basically need Digital Foundry's slow motion frame and pixel counters and a written report to notice the most minute differences between console ports.

First of all I've stated many times at this forum that I consider the hardware of both consoles to be bad. PS4 is bad, X1 is ridiculously bad. Now I do think that without heavy subsidizing PS4 is probably as good a $400 machine as anybody could have released in late 2013. But for the hardware to be proper both companies should have made $500 consoles. $400 was fine in 2005 but the dollar has lost 40% of its value since then. To launch a $400 X360 in 2005 with today's money would have resulted in X360 being 40% worse than it was! Who the hell wants consoles 40% weaker than they should be just to save $100? Not me. Epic Games stated that current gen consoles should be 2.5 tflops and I believe they hit the nail right on the head. That would have resulted in consoles with the consistent 1080p/60 performance that we wanted. Sony delivered approximately 75% of that and MS just a little over 50% of that.

The gap between PS4's and X1's graphics processing capabilities is roughly 40% ... 1.8 tflops vs 1.3 tflops. Difference between 900p and 1080p is in the neighborhood of 600,000 pixels which is more than I think a lot of people might guess off the top of their heads.

Only in NA. It was gonna flop in Japan no matter what they did but Europe is where PS4 is really handing it an asskicking.
