@Jacanuk: This article is about making ad revenue; everyone knows the game creators are not going to do something just because GameSpot says it's a good idea.
I disagree with the "if you don't want it, don't buy it" argument because the mere existence of the DLC takes away from the experience (and causes me to lose faith in the developers). All games should be above DLC, it's just really disheartening to see one of the best franchises go to the dark side.
There's a big mentality difference between being the character and watching the character (like a movie, and more-so in games with lots of cutscenes that show your character and/or are 3rd person). If I'm going to "be" a character it's never a female.
