My dad recently had a hard case of pneumonia. It was hell for him and us, because you always think that the worst thing will happen. He was a hard smoker (about 30-40 cigarettes daily). But now he quit. He tried once before when there was a crisis here in my country. He couldn't find cigars anywhere and he looked all over the city for them, and then said to himself: "Christ, I wouldn't even go for bread this far". And then he tried to quit. He didn't smoke for 6 months, but he started again. It's really sad that when it caught him, he quitted then. It could've been too late.
