One of the best games I've played this year for sure. Played through it with stealth early on but mixed things up later on a bit, going in more 'all guns blazing' at times.

I think it took me around 6hours or so to finish the campaign. I found that it got repetitive towards the end of the game since the gameplay does remain the same throughout. Environments don't really change too much either. It's a decent campaign but that's about it really.
I only played a small amount of multiplayer since I couldn't get games to work half the time (an issue a couple of my friends also had when trying to play online). Only two modes exist to play online, a standard team deathmatch mode and the other was a capture and hold points on the map game mode. There's also a free horde mode DLC coming out for free in October to play in co-op with friends at least. Lots of customisation to perform on your character which is pretty cool but there's not much else to do online.
What game should I preorder right now, Arkham City or Battlefield 3? I have never played any of the other Battlefield games and just recently finished Arkham Asylum.

Depends really since they're entirely different games. Since you've just played through Arkham Asylum you should have a pretty good idea of whether you want to play it's sequel or not. Battlefield 3 would be worth going for instead if you enjoy your fps games and want to play a good multiplayer game online.
I'm pretty sure that both games will be great so you won't be going wrong with either of them.
So does anyone have any idea when this is actually going to be released in the UK by chance? I've seen a mixture of release dates ranging from 16th (tomorrow) to the 30th of this month. Anyone know when the definite release date is?
Anyone else picking this up also? I personally thought Tropico 3 played great on the 360, was a real surprise just how good it was, took me back to my Sim City days way back on the SNES (think it was the SNES anyway, been a while :?).
Loved the first Gears when it first came out, just wasn't able to get into the second game for some reason though, not really sure why. Might have just been over-hype or over-expectations that I had for it. Can't really get myself hyped up for Gears 3 at the moment, I imagine it'll be good but just too many other great looking games coming out that I'm more psyched for such as Skyrim and BF3.
So did anyone like Driver?

Single player demo was A LOT better than I had expected, still nothing fantastic but not the train wreck I had envisioned. I didn't end up picking up the game just yet myself purely because of all the other triple A titiles coming out in the upcoming months. Best bet is to just try the demo's of the game and see what you think of it really. Chances are it will go down in price pretty quickly due to all the other games that are coming out soon, might be able to pick it up in an xmas sale.
Played about 15hours or so of Dead Island so far, mixture of single player and co-op. The Edge review is ridiculous, the game is flawed and has a lot of issues, but it's nowhere near a 3/10. From that score I would expect the game to be terrible or barely playable, and it's neither of those things. It's not the greatest game granted, probably more like a 6 or 7 out of 10. Just Edge trying to be controversial and stand out from the other review sites and magazines.
I recently tried to give New Vegas a second chance after I had a bunch of major issues with it when I bought it on it's launch. I don't really know whether I just had a lot of bad luck with the game or something, but on buying it back and attempting to play through the game, I actually had more issues the second time around. Game breaking bugs too where I had to reset my console on a regular basis.
By all means give the game a go again if you want to try it, from what I actually managed to play of it the game was good, not quite at the same level as Fallout 3 but a lot of fun for sure. Just don't be surprised if you do run into a bunch of bugs still, because although the game's been patched a heck of a lot since release and some people do get by in the game with no issues whatsoever, a lot of people like myself still find the game barely playable.
Over-rated:
Final Fantasy 13 - Gave it a chance but just couldn't get into the game whatsoever, hated all of the characters pretty much too.
Infamous - Played it for a while but just seemed a little too repetitive, ended up getting bored of it pretty quickly.
Demon's Souls - Good game but that's about it, didn't really find it to be anything special.
Resident Evil 5 - Completely average. Used the exact same template of Resi 4 and felt like the dev's were real lazy in designing the game.
Under-rated:
Shadows of the Damned - Fantastically fun to play, wicked sense of humour. Reminded me a lot of Resi 4.
Nier - Good story and a great soundtrack, graphics weren't anything special but the characters and atmosphere of the game were awesome.
Mafia 2 - Pretty average gunplay but great story and voice acting, loved playing through this game.
Singularity - Just different to other fps games at the time and was a lot of fun, shame it didn't get the attention it deserved.
Yeah as the guys above said, there's a free DLC pack coming out for the game early October. The mode's called Exterminatus, and it's basically like the Horde game mode's that are in a bunch of other multiplayer shooters, with co-op for up to 4 players I believe.
