It seems the shotgun will have much less of an impact, so hopefully the online play will get better. They patched Gears 1 to make the lancer slightly more powerful than it originally was, and that seemed to help a little
I think you'll keep keep your GamerPoints when you recover your gamertag, but you are going to lose all your game saves and downloads. Not sure about the friends list
