Final Fantasy VII was one of the worst RPGs that i have ever played.  Oh, here come the fanboys with sharp objects, God they are worse than the Zelda fanboys (no offense to the Zelda fans).  The game is absolutely terrible and yet you cling to it like a life raft on the Titanic. Let us go through the things that are bad about the game.  The graphics are sub-par even for the time it was released.  The people lack any details at all and the backrounds are all pre-rendered.  Oooh if Resident Evil uses pre rendered back round everyone gets angry about how stupid it is but if the holy Final Fantasy VII uses it, you pull out the "it's not a bug, it's a feature" line.  Second, the gameplay, the camera angle for the battles is constanly changes so your not really sure what your clicking on at times.  The combat adds nothing to RPG's as a whole, since everything is taken from another Final Fantasy game, not that necessarily a bad thing, but the active time battle is AWFUL I dispise having to babysit the bars and get killed if i dont pick my actions quickly enough.  It is just a stupid system.  The only cool thing about the combat were the limit breaks and the sumons, and those you only got occasionally.  Next, the story is one of the stupidest, most unbelievable, convoluted POS's that i have ever had the misfortune of having to sit through.  I have read H.G. Wells stories that have better stories and got to the point quicker than this one.  The only real good thing about the game are the awesome characters.  Cloud, Sephiroth, Vincent, and Barret are some of the coolest characters that i have ever encountered in a video game. But they are all just too dramatic for my liking.  Cloud is too Emo, Vincent is too quiet and mysterious, Sephiroth is too crazy, and Barret is too much of a steriotypical black guy.  But overall i would have to say that Final Fantasy VII has spawned some of the worst spin offs ever and aside from the absolutely horrendous FFII, it is the worst of the final fantasy series.

Just wanted to list some of my favorite webcomics for my first post.  They are VG Cats at www.vgcats.com, Penny Arcade at www.penny-arcade.com, PVP at www.pvponline.com, and Ctrl+Alt+Del at http://www.ctrlaltdel-online.com.  They are all about gaming and they do swear a lot so if you (or your parents) are offended by that sort of thing, then you won't want to check them out.  They are really funny and most of them are now pretty famous.
