I won the GameSpot Sync CoD XP Bundle!!

One of the last episodes of Sync featured events from the CoD XP event in LA and even hosted a trivia contest. While I would never travel 2,000 miles to go to such an event (or pay for CoD Elite for that matter) apparently I don't have to worry about those little details because I won the givaway package featured on said episode of Sync a few weeks ago! My stuff arrived yesterday so I took some pictures. *right-click and "save as" to view the entire picture(s)*

The whole bundle!

Sum of all Goods

*(e)sports baggie, t-shirt, poster, cloth patch, coupons, a thank you note from GameSpot (yay) and also Activision (boo, lol), and lastly a tin with a redemption ticket for a free hardened edition of MW3*

Message from Evil?

Sincerely?

I know what you're thinking right? Patapon and Final Fantasy temporary tattoos? They're awesome! Also, who is "The Call of Duty Team" refered to at the end of the letter? I think they work for EA now... again.

Also, some of you (like me) may still be upset at the loss of Sync, but On The Spot is still pretty cool and features it's own giveaways and a variety of editors. I still find Start/Select's focus on mobile gaming a little disturbing (anyone else?), but I regress. Thank you GameSpot (particularly *EDIT* Synthia & JodyR) for taking the time to throw all this stuff together and give it away like the wind -- the little extras are awesome. I guess from now on I can't say I never win anything, so maybe this will inspire others to participate in future givaways. Best of luck!

Why I like GameSpot's New Layout

I'm too lazy to do a comprehensive review, but first I would like to commend GameSpot for keeping things simple and clean. There are many other game sites I regularly visit that clutter up the homepage with things about pop-culture, movies, and other crap. Aside from the occasional ipod/iphone article, GameSpot is purely games, and for that reason it is my preferred site to this day. You wouldn't think it would be so hard to maintain a gaming website and keep it solely about games right?

Anyways, I still believe the only complaint I have is that it is still difficult managing the watched, now playing, and owned lists. Some improvements in that department would alleviate all of my frustrations.

My first blog in my 5 years of posting... hm... Well I'll continue in the future to add some of my opinions and speculations, as I always seem to hit the nail on the head when it comes to review scores and release dates.

Thanks for taking the time to read! =P
