I dwell within the shadows
Those corners hidden within darkness
Those closets cloaked in night that you so fear
You go about your lives oblivious and unaware
While you sleep so blissfully ignorant I wait
Will today be the today you depart from this life?
Shielded from my touch by an aura so bright
I wait, for I know your day shall come soon enough
While you sit alone thinking no one is there
Reminiscing upon the days events and your past
No one has a clue as to why they have forgotten past events
Why, it is because I have harvested the memories you hold so dear
You think you are so special
I could find hundreds just like you
Just as smart, just as glamorous
You hold this delusion that somehow you deserve to live
Ending the lives of you pathetic beings
You who are so arrogant as to assume you have earned your way
You who live like mice in a maze
You who wander about in this bewildering haze
Go about your daily business, the clock is ticking
Will today be the day you are no longer safe?
Will my chill touch close upon your heart?
You try and predict your death
Don't be so foolish as to assume to know my agenda
I lurk within those shadows you so fear
I harvest those dreams you hold so dear
I shatter those hopes that give your life meaning
This is how i see those i work with
And after my work is through
Upon reading this, I sincerely hope I don't appear too arrogant to you
Though after all, Death has a right to be demeaning
