His Life..

My attempt at..something O_O...

Bright lights shine down upon him

Others sit around him

But he has eyes for only one

She is so close he can touch her

So close her soft breath caresses his skin

All he has to do is say a simple word

A word spoken so frequently and with such ease

Her eyes meet his but each remains silent

He tries to keep his cheeks from becoming rosy red

She watches without a sound waiting for him to speak

This word so simple will not reach his lips

Fighting within, the word will not come

Why does she not speak?

Why must she torture him so?

Why does she make him feel this way?

Why won't she free him of this torment?

She sits there and watches, eyes so piercing

He tries to gulp back this overwhelming sense of fear

He tries to stifle this feeling of dread

Mouth so dry, he swallows loudly

Did she hear? Why won't she speak?

He tries with all his might to look away

Her gaze holds him firmly in place

Time passes so slowly; he tries to read her face

Can't tell what she's thinking from that expression

Mind racing, battling within

He says this word so casually everyday

Why can't he say it now?

What makes her so different?

Slowly he overcomes his fear

Slowly the dread begins to disappear

Steeling himself, his lips part

He can feel the words rise from within

She turns away

He begins Looking around in dismay

Why was she acting this way?

Others begin to rise from their seats

The shrill ringing of the bell jars him back to reality

Another day has passed

He has wasted another chance

He let her get away another day

He had vowed this would not happen again

He had promised himself to talk to her this day

But there he sat, in shock, as she stood and walked away

Anger rises from within

Why does this always happen to him?

Why can't he just utter this simple word?

Why was it so hard to talk to her?

Tears of frustration well up in his eyes

He blinks them away as he rises from his seat

Hiding his face as he walks through the halls

Hiding the tears from the others for fear they will laugh

After all he was man; he is not supposed to cry

He can't hold them back any longer

They cascade down his cheeks

He can already hear their laughter

Echoing through the halls, chasing him away

Sitting in alone in his room

Crying tears so red

Trying to make it through the day

Trying to overcome this pain

Head hung in shame

He'll never be brave enough to say this simple word

He'll never be brave enough to overcome his fears

He sits alone now drowning in his tears

Why had he done this to himself?

As his life slowly ebbs away

His world fades to black

His breathing slows

He welcomes the silence

He welcomes the escape from his fear

Death will free him from his pain

Death will free him from it all

He walks into deaths welcoming embrace

Losing himself in the eternal darkness

His life ends here

He is free of his fear
