I think it's kind of a plateau affect. Compared to the classic games of old, I.E. Pac-Man, which had ludicrous amounts of levels topped with ever increasing difficulty that literally made the game next to impossible to beat, yes, games have gotten much easier in that respect. However as new technology continues to develop, games are getting more complex, which is a slightly different matter. Games now are more cinematic than they used to be. You can usually get from the beginning to the end without a problem. However now there are so many elements to games and so many different things and controls to do and learn that it actually can be considered harder than the classic games of old. Consider, if you too someone from the days of Pac-Man (a game with basically like one joystick and one button), and threw them on even the most simplest of games made now, they'd find it nearly impossible. It's also a matter of conditioning, as you said, you're older now, so you mind and aptitude have developed, so it's very possible that the games have just become easier for you. Also just because of being immersed in the technology so much plays a part in it. Bottom line is, games are easier to complete, but really the elements that comprise playing a game have become much more interactive, complex, and user-controlled than they ever have been before.

Forza 2 has some good tunes in the menu'sangryfodder

Definitely agree, Forza's music is good all around. Katamari had some sweet music too though. But I'm going to have to go out on a limb here and say Rez = Best Video Game Soundtrack of all time. lol

I think Phantasy Star Universe was heavily underplayed, at least by the critics. Getting only "fair" reviews, it really gave the playesrs a very well rounded, in depth RPG experience. It was scaled down enough to appeal to those unfamiliar with the greatness of PSO, however much of the game, especially the network play, remained faithful to the dungeon monster killing fests and special item/weapon hunts that really made PSO so much fun in the first place... besides, this game actually HAD a story, where as it's at the very least arguable that PSO even had one lol. Don't get me wrong though, PSO will forever remain the king of the Phantasy Star series, but I think that Phantasy Star Universe got undercut when it really deserved a little bit more limelight than it got. :D

With a gamespot score of 8.5 and an average user score of 8.2 I'd have to say The Darkness.

Yeh, it didn't re-invent the FPS genre but as an experience it's the finest I've had so far on the 360. Adult story, humour, violence, superb voice acting and in 1080P it looks as heavenly as Salma Hayek in From Dusk Till Dawn. (well almost)

DOOBIVOOS

Yeah, I just got the game a couple days back because I played it at a friend's house, definitely a great experience, and it does introduce some relatively unique elements... demon powers, anyone?
