Okay, so the reason for my recent disappearance was a combination of enrollment in college and my boyfriend proposing to me. Yes we gotten engaged :D. No I don't talk about him much around here but what can I say? I like to keep him all to myself. My new phrase is "You, say that now." I use it as an automatic response to almost everything to annoy people I don't like and those I love the most. (That's just the way I am.) My funniest employment yet of this phrase has been the following: (On my boyfriend's decision to join the military.) Him: I'm not gonna die. Me: You say that now. (If you don't get it you had to be there. If you do anyway then we should hang out sometime.) I was over at TWoP on The West Wing spoiler thread and I noticed two things. 1. Mrs V is leaving! How will I ever get over this. Not only am I going to be missing out on up to the date TWW spoilers but she's going away from us! :( 2. My TV.com TWW guide got mentioned! (Squeee!) Looks like they know we exist after all. If anyone ever wants to find me over there look for (you guessed it) "Yakira." I cannot wait for Sunday. TWW premiere and Grey's Anatomy. I am so reved and ready to go. I can't wait! (Even when I do know what's going to happen next.) Grey's Anatomy was on the front cover of Entertainment Weekly! The thing that displays my reviews in order in still out of wack after a month and a half. Did you see the Emmys? Donald Trump singing in overalls and a straw hat? It was so over the second they announced that Megan Mullally was going to be singing. She doesn't just do M&M commercials people. :) Out of the categories they showed on TV I got 12 right out of 31. That was of course based on things I thought would win not what I wanted to win. As far as I can tell The West Wing did not take home a single award which is down from last year for one award. (Allison Janney for those who don't know but she rocks anyway so it doesn't really count for the show.) If anybody is looking for a specific cause of such shame I have two words for you: John Wells. S. Epatha Merkerson so had it coming after years of hard work on Law & Order. I squeed when Felicity Huffman thanked Aaron Sorkin for casting her in Sports Night. I loved the dedication to the World News Trio and Carson. I wasn't all that surprised when Everybody Loves Raymond beat out Desperate Housewives. I was delighted to hear that Kathryn Joosten had received an Emmy for her guest appearance on Desperate Housewives. (She so rocks in and out of her age bracket.) I found the Emmy's moderately funny. Ellen did a pretty good job. I'm taking classes in History, "College" Algebra, and Political Science. I type "College" because I definitely did this stuff in middle school (junior high, for some of you out there). But the name isn't what baffles me. It's the sheer number of people in this class who are completely dumbfounded about things like the real number system and absolute value. I'm working on testing out. (I should be in Calculus 2). You would not believe how much of the syllabus for my History and PolySci class crosses-over. It's like taking the the same class but with a slightly different perspective. Studying things when the happen and seeing how they affect us now all at the same time. I've studied the same events in a parallel order so many times in these classes over the past 3 weeks that I'm started to wonder itf there's a conspiracy whereby these teachers (from different departments mind you) get together 3 times a week and say oka on Monday we'll talk about Hurricane Katrina, Wednesday will be about Plessy vs. Ferguson, and Friday will be Brown vs. Board of Education and Trent Lott. It's really starting to creep me out. :) Grey's Anatomy Stuff So this is the stuff from the Grey's Anatomy story in Entertainment Weekly. Here's the story: Story, (Creative Description, huh?) Warning: It's got some spoilers. This is a West Wing promotional photo which I believe may be the 6th season DVD cover. It has been noted that it contains an interesting placement of characters... I've been trying to keep up on my submissions but I wouldn't be surprised if some of them had ended up being moderated by the staff. I saw the TV Listings. My opinion?: Ehhhh. I wish it wouldn't mess with the regular show time on the show guide page or at least that it would be optional. Also optional in my opinion should be what shows up in your show listings. There may be shows you love but own on DVD and have no desire to watch on TV anymore but appear in your listing anyway and as a result make the list even longer. Which is my biggest peeve. (Other than the fact that it offers you the same listing 3 times in broadcast, high def, and digital.) The list so SO... FReaKing... LOOOOONGGG. Couldn't they take a note from tvguide.com and make it so that you could view a day at a time? Or maybe restrict the hours that sho up on your screen so that you only get primetime for your area on Monday - Friday and all day Sunday and Saturday? Like a function where you go and say I want my default option to show me 7pm to midnight for weekdays. Scrolling that page is a ***************. (Imagine any word you like to go there). Or at least include internal links. And who would ever want to Print something that long? Especially when you can't use it in a week? At least it's printer-friendly. And why won't it remember my zip code? And that's it for the better blog I promised other than this update on my stats which isn't what an update used to mean for me (at least 100 submissions a day, you know what I'm saying?). Level 20 (37%) Yes, I've been gone long enough for people who got here a month after I did to surpass me. I really don't want to be a Cow Bell anymore. I can't believe Level 47 is still stinkin' blank. I know they've got other top priorities but that's just slackerish and easy to fix. I know I'm late but no Top Ten Contributors anymore? Accepted: 1839 Denied: 220 Pending: 101 Total: 2160 No people submissions moderated. Oldest submission not moderated (other than a person one) from: July 9 for Blind Date and Shipmates (I don't watch them but I was surfing. Please don't judge me! :)) Oh, and this question. (Re: end of the better blog except for the update) Does anyone know if the episode numbering tool is back up? I've got some episodes that belong in the Special/Other category.
