Sad And Depressed :(
by Yakira on Comments
I just got yelled at by a staff member who shall remain nameless. Apparently they were angry at me for submitting episodes that were already in the episode guides. But I wasn't doing that! I got 3 different letters from them ccomplaining about this activity. My guess is that the submissions for a single show aren't all handled by the same person/staff member and some other staff member evaluated someone else's submissions (probably someone with a higher level) before mine got checked. Either way it made me really depressed. I practically got called stupid. They asked me if I bothered to check the guide before I submitted new info. This is the PM i sent as a reply: [quote="Yakira"]Whenever I submit (Everytime I submit) an episode title I search for the guide if it's not listed under my favorite shows. Once I arrive on the Summary page I click on the Episodes tab. The I go to the last season if there's more than one. If the title I have to submit isn't listed I then record the lifetime episode number and airdate of the last episode in a word processing document. Then I click on the Contribute button. Then I click on Add A New Episode. Then I enter the new information. Episode Title: "Whatever It Happens To Be" Episode Summary: "Coming Soon..." Episode Recap: (left blank) Season: #? Episode Lifetime Number: Whatever it should be according to the last episode and what number it was in the season and the season episode number of the episode I'm adding. Episode Season Number: Whatever I'm told by the source. If it doesn't say I don't bother trying to submit it. Production Code: However the previous episodes are set up, what the source tells me, or left blank if the guide doesn't use them AirDate: Check box for unaired if that's what's been done to the previous episodes, Add a week onto the last episode's airdate after I check to make sure with another source that the show is "airing" on the correct day of the week according to the guide, left blank/left at 1/1/2006 if that's what's done in that guide. Like I said before I really really really don't know what your're talking about. Next time I try to submit a new episode I'll include screen shots in the comments to prove it wasn't there when I went to submit it. I hope that solves the problem even though it doesn't solve my confusion as I didn't do what you said I did. Please stop getting angry at me when I don't even know what you're talking about. I will be sure to provide adequate proff of an episode's absence everytime I submit a new episode along with the sources I use to add the new episode. I did all that hard work and for what? To get insulted? Beyond that it seems that the staff does not have uniform standards for submissions. I heard in the forums that people were getting submissions rejected on the basis of whether or not they placed the colon inside or outside the bold tags for quotes. But the even worse point is that some staff members were rejecting quotes for colons being outside and some were rejecting quotes for colons being inside. In this case tha staff member came down on me for not including air dates and production numbers. It's been stated by users, mods, and staff alike that production numbers are optional and air dates are different for submissions from guide to guide. Like I said above some don't even put an air date until the episode airs or leave it 1/1/2006. I follow what I see in the guide. Anyway I just needed to vent. I was left feeling really sad and depressed after a fight with my boyfriend and then I came home to this. Sidenotes: 1. Did work on the first two episodes of Weeds and handed off a little work to RoxieVelma for The West Wing. 2. The second episode of Weeds did not rock the way the first one did. But I heard from over 10 non-TV.com reviews that it gets better. 3. Got to read more spoliers from the latest TWW episode. Spoilers would have cheered me up but I could tell that JW was writing the scenes. 4. Level Update August 16th, 2005: Level 14 (12)% August 17th, 2005: Level 14 (69)% 5. Took a break from the forums. The thread I was running started to stress mme out. I apologize to MikeBriggs or anyone else if they were offended by any of my posts in there. Either way I plan to start a new thread that will chronicle previous research. It'll probably be next week. 6.
