Well here I am.. Blogging. I keep trying to remind myself to blog but then I forget. Then the next day comes and I, of course remind myself to blog once again. Then I forget again! *sigh*. Anyways, here I am still on the after glow of After Hours.
I have to say After Hours was the best thing since sliced bread. Great games, Great game Demo's (Thanks to 2k for that), and MC Chris was great. One of my favorite moments of After Hours would be the first hour going in. When they said they were going to open the 2k Theater for the Game Bio-shock. I was one of the first people in line because knowing all too well, It'll start having a big line. And guess what It did, anyways on to the Demo. So I sat down chatted with some people while we were waiting for them to start up the Demo, saying "Hi, is this your first gaming event". After the small talk they closed the door and started up the Demo. If you seen the Demo from E3, then you know what It looks like. In this Demo they focused more on the Combat side of the game. I have to say, the Combat looks great.
The Combat looks like any other FPS you run and shoot the bad guys. But, these are your regular run of the mill type bad guys. These bad guys are geneticly enhanced bad guys. The ones they've showed us had a Teleporting type power. And he wasnt too happy to see us and begins attacking us. The AI looks great so far. It hides, Teleports behind you, and Teleports out of danger when its low on health. The Player of the Demo takes it out and we see another aspect of the game. After you take out one of these enhanced bad guys, a little girl comes and takes what ever that enhances them. Course, she isnt alone and one of your rivals comes to kill her to get what ever she has. Its your job (if you choose to accept it *evil grin*) to protect her from your rival. So, we begin in to fight, and its a hard fight becuase our rival is wearing armor, and you are not. So they show us some of the powers you can use, like teleport. We teleport away to heal ourselfs and ready to get back at our armored friend. Another power they showed was kinda nasty and useful. Basicly, its a ball of your own plasma that comes out of your hands. Altho, I forgot what it was for, but from what I can remember is that makes enemy's targeting you go after the target you threw it at. So as we make a distractionz we leave them to duke it out, knowing who would win (the armored guy of course =P) we made it to an windowed room that really shows that you are under water and how big the city your in really is. After takeing in the scenery, our big armored friend comes back to make sure we dont forget him. Then is where they showed another power you can use, Teleknisus. Its pretty much like the gravity gun, you pick things up and throw it, like throwing a grenaide at our armored friend! After we finsh him off, it just leaves you and the girl. After the fight, you see the girl hideing behind a sofa. Of course they wouldnt show us what happens next (The player standing over her with a rench, I wonder what would happen next.....) but they say that morality is a key part of the game.
Other key things that happened there, I got on the Live feed 2 times! Once on the Homer Cam and on the Confessional. Homer gave me some swag while asking me a easy question which I played along. And on the Confessional, too bad most of you didnt see it, I was terrable. I played Battlefield 2140 also, it looks more polished then what I saw on the beta, which is great in my opinion, makes it alot funner without bugs =P. I played some of the PS3 games they had on the showfloor. The Controller doesnt feel any different other then its lighter becuase of the no rumble feature. I've never liked rumble I always turn it off anyways. I played alot of other games I cant remember but they are were great. I had a fun time there and haveing MC Chris on stage made it better.
Well thats it for today's blog. Hopefully I can keep this updated more often
