Lot of 3rd party companies are thrilled about Nintendo Switch, and ever RockStar Games like it. I think Nintendo will have a chance to get 3rd party support back with Switch. While they aren't Sony or Microsoft because they aren't trying to be both but they are different. We saw NBA 2K on the Switch and I know Madden, Call of Duty, and maybe GTA or Red Dead will be on the Switch. So will a strong 3rd party support help Nintendo Switch sell more or will it end up like Wii U. Let hope so

Today marked the 10 year anniversary of the PS3 launch. Remember E3 2006 when they announce the price for $600.00, lot of people were unhappy, and it was a hug blow for Sony. That is why many 3rd party brought there games to Xbox 360 because people didn't want to paid for a $600.00 system. I first brought mine in 2007 for $349.99, a year later it had the yellow light which it freeze when playing. I hear rumors that in 2009 3rd party companies almost didn't bring there games to PS3 because of the price which they almost went Sega Dreamcast. But Sony did something about it by drope the price for PS3 down to $299.99 with a new slim model. I brought the slim in 2010.
To me I think PS3 did good but not great as Xbox 360, but Sony did turn it around in 2009 with the new slim PS3 and they had some killer games. I think Sony learn there lesson on PS3, and they did a good job on PS4 right now but with the PS4 Pro some say Sony is falling back like on PS3. They got to be careful because if Xbox Scorpio beat out the Pro it could be the end of Sony making console but that won't happen anytime soon.
No. I know people want to believe that if Nintendo gets back in the game with a great console, then the glory days of gaming will return. What they forget is the glory days of gaming came about not beause of Nintendo but because of the PS2 basically. Look at the Wii, as an example. The Wii was their best selling console in ages and what kind of games did that get? It got some really good Nintendo titles....and then some of the most god-awful garbage third parties could dump on it for a quick buck. And sorry, but I don't blame the motion controls of the "gimmick". The problem is developers, like Nintendo themselves, see Nintendo consoles as toys for little kids and so quality is not worth their time. If they dump crap on the console and it sells, they will pump out more crap. If it doesn't sell, they just point fingers and fall back on the whole "See! People only buy Nintendo games!"
The NX could be the best selling console of all time...it's still not going to get much third party support. Not serious support anyway. We will get a stream of just dance titles, Mario-party rip offs, crappy kids movie tie-ins, etc.
Nintendo is not trying to be like both Sony and Microsoft, they want to be different from anybody else. How many older gamer have an Wii U, you don't see older gamer buy Nintendo games. I see kids between the ages of 7-12 buying Nintendo games because that there target audience is. The reason why both Sony and Microsoft have a strong 3rd party support because older gamer buy those games for those systems. Without 3rd party support Nintendo will be out of businesses of making consoles. There bread and butter right now is the 3DS and they have a lack of 3rd party support but most of there audience are kids. The game industry have changes since the NES days and Nintendo is not keeping up with the times. People who grew up on NES, Super NES and even N64 had move on to PS4 or Xbox One now.
So what will 3rd party companies do when it comes out, will we see a lot of 3rd party support for the system or will Nintendo stick to there own games.
@sukraj:
no I'm not getting a Slim but I'm trading my PS4 on Saturday so i'll see how much cash I get for it.
I feel sorry for you
Well there won't be making the old PS4 but if folks who want to buy a PS4 but the Slim is the best way
@GTR12:
No I'm taking about PS4 Slim, what about people who want to buy a PS4 and we know Sony won't make the current one anymore so you have an option. why no oen doesn't reply to this thread to see what you people think
Almost definitely not. They lost the vast majority of their install base this gen. There's no reason to expect it to return. Smartphones killed their handheld division. We should be glad at least Nintendo survived it.
Problem with smartphone game is the touch screen control, doesn't look fun at all. I try to play GTA III on an iPhone but it's not the same on an console. I think Sony will failed on the PlayStation VR because they put there money on it, like other Sony other unlit had failed and here are the list
Pocket Station: Was going to be release in the US back in 1999 and it was an answer to Nintendo Gameboy
PlayStation Move: Didn't do so well because Xbox Kinect out sold the PS Move
For one Nintendo 3DS is gear towards little kids and young adult because but most of Nintendo fan base is. 3DS doesn't have the games that I want to play because they are too kiddy for my taste. PSP was much better then DS to me because PSP was gear toward older gamer. They had a better game line up then PS Vita, it sad that Sony will let the PS Vita died but they will mostly discontinue it here in the US this year or early next year. Many of the retailers like Walmart, Best Buy, Target and even GameStop aren't pulling them on there stock anymore. They only way you can buy a used PS Vita and games are at GameStop, pawn shop and even online. If Sony add a HDD on to the PS Vita (16GB-64GB) then it would sell with out the SD cards. Nintendo is the only one left on the handheld market but Vita did had some better games then 3DS because most if the 3DS games were too kiddy
I hope not.
The VITA wasnt even needed in the first place.
Handhelds are a tough market, mostly because there isnt much software companies that are willing to invest in it (devs making games for them).
Now with phones, that takes away from handhelds, not because phones can do what handheld does, but before people arent gonna want to carry those two things are the same time.
Nintendo is the only folks that can have any success with handhelds because they have a legacy and they have a supper loyal handheld fan base, and their games are also kid friendly. Sony has never been able to capture the little kids market.
Anyways, it doesnt look like Sony will make another. And the few devs studios that worked on handhelds have moved up to developing for PS4 (BEND Studios making Days Gone and the people who made PSP GOW games made the shitty The Order 1886, The next Gravity Rush game is on PS4, etc.)
Problem with 3DS been a kid friendly handheld because it doesn't get no support for adult gamer , I don't see adult gamer with a 3DS anyway.
