Finsihed Assassins Creed 2: Impression

This will be a jumbled mess so forgive me if I leap from one place to another without the sentencing being well processed because theres so much jumping around in my head after playing this that it leaves me lost in translation giving a impression without spoiling anything important.

So I finished it finally, took about 18 hours for the main plot and I still have quite a bit of side quests, feathers and upgrades left to acquire but overall the game was a awesome journey from start to finish. Speaking about the finish for a minute, it's a twister because if you thought the first game ended strangely this one leaves you with a serious "what the f#ck" spinning around in your head (I Can't Wait Though For AC3). I also feel really bad for Ezio, you'll understand why I feel very sorry for him when you beat the game and if you don't feel sorry for him after all the effort he went through then your a heartless prick.

Now is it better then the first assassins creed? Yes.

This game feels above and beyond the original assassins creed, sure theres still some repetitive natured things in the game but its no more different now then any other game where certain things become repetitive over the coarse of playing a game, theres so much more variety in missions now that your definitely not going to get bored and more then likely you'll easily be able to play this game through a few times without it driving you to the brink of insanity.

Now something thats been talked about is the economics system in the game, its very minimalistic in nature, its not as robust as they've told you it would be but that doesn't mean to stay it isn't a very welcomed addition because it changes (or adds a layer to things) things in a way that makes you feel quite rewarded for doing things in the world. In the original you felt you didn't really get anything from your efforts in the game but in this one you get so much over the coarse of the game for your efforts its really welcoming and the fact you get to choose your rewards makes it all the better in the end. Now many people want to know about dying Ezio's robes and well unfortunately its doesn't allow you to pick any color you want but does give you a number (4) of pre-select choices in each major area as well as the choice to go back to the standard white for free, the choices in the game are very nice but most I think at the end of the game are going to choose the badass looking red & black dye.

The weapons and armor upgrades in the game are welcoming as well, there are many daggers in this game so its basically outside of your hidden blade meant to be your main choice in the mix (I used one most the time that looks like a butchers cleaver), thats not to say the blunt weapons in the game aren't great (mainly maces) because they are wicked fun and some of the execution by these will leave you with a little evil grin on your face because you knowbefore that guy died h felt your attack. So the armors have a nice feel to them, adding to the visual styling of your Ezio and adding health an damage reduction to him and while originally I thought these upgrades would slow him down they didn't seem to effect him in any way possible, this guys a freestyle terminator :D

The gameplay this time around is much more fluid as well and because of it you feel like your doing things faster then in the original when your not really but some things Ezio can do quicker then Altair like climbing, Ezio is much more nimble then Altair and its apparent right from the start of the game who's the better ninja master :P

Now this begs the question of who would win in a fight?

At the end of the game I would say both Ezio or Desmond could wipe the floor with Altair but at the beginning Altair could take on both of them at the same time with little effort.

Now visuals, your definitely going to notice a some screen tearing in this game if your running through HDMI at 720p but other then that you'll barely notice any frame dips (they happen but not shattering bad). I just watched the lens of truth comparison between the PS3 and 360 version and it leaves me wondering what kind of television those guys are using to make the comparison visuals look so different, on my samsung it looks nearly identical to the 360 version during the bright summer times of the day.

Video if you want to see the comparison by lens of truth.

Now after watching it you have to wonder if these guys are biased because those time of day parts with the exception of the night time are different times of the day (night basically all looks the same).

So anyway the game does look great on both consoles (will look fantastic when the pc version arrives), sorry for going into that I just thought it was a little funny considering I already know what this game looks like on my own television and that'll make a big difference in comparisons, quite easy to fake bad quality by changing televisions and internal settings.

Anyway if you have questions, just post something and I'll answer it.
