It's nice to feed trolls occasionally.

Yes, all you do in L4D is kill zombies. On another note, all you do in CoD:WaW is kill Japanese/Germans. All you do in CoD 4 is kill Ultranationalists. All you do in Bioshock is kill spliced up morons, and all you do in Half-Life 2 is kill brainwashed policemen. Every FPS revolves around repedetive shooting. And that's what makes L4D so good. The Director means that, in co-op, there will be no predictable moments in each level when you or one of your teammates will point out a certain encounter with certain zombies and how to handle it. As Co-op in an FPS goes, there is none better than L4D.

Besides, Valve is already planning to release new content for L4D (But only on PC :P)

the closing missions in mass effect such a big intense build up love it!Beaglesniffer

Intense untill the very last bit, where it's just people discussing politics.

My Personal favourite is definately the white forest strider attack. Every part of that level felt like an action movie. A really, really good action movie.

Or the first few levels of System Shock 2, where you're just like WTTFFFFF!!!!111

I would personally choose L4D. I have played both games, and they're both in the top 3 games this year for me (F3 is no.1). L4D has much more replayability than it seems at first glance, because although you don't really notice the director when you're playing, it means there are no moments when you'll say "Okay guys, here's the part where the Zombie jumps out the closet", which would completely ruin the point of a co-op campaign.

If you're not a fan of co-operative gameplay with mostly strangers, however, Farcry 2 is the better choice. Big world, Big replayability. However, in my mind there's nothing truly revolutionary to be found in Farcry 2, and most of the stuff there (excluding the AWESOME health system) can be found in Crysis.

Don't give up on L4D though. Valve isn't the type of developer that abandons it's games, and if you're on PC you can expect a LOT of new (free) content to be coming for L4D over the next couple of years. Look at TF2 to see what I mean.
