As Its already well known that games on PC are lot better then games on X360 or PS3. So, undoubtedly GTA IV is pretty good on PC. There are some occassional bugs but rest assured the game runs pretty smoothly on PC.
Yes, you can defineatly play games off an external HDD. A few days back I ran out of space on my "C" drive while installing Fallout: New Vegas so I installed it on my HDD. So far I've played it for 5 hours and haven't faced any kind of issues.
Bioshock is one of the best game that I have played in my life. Everything about the game is awesome. The story is very interesting and pulls you into the game. The usage of the hand powers and weapons is really cool. I'd totally recommend getting the game.
I think you are right. Comparing games of different genres is not the right thing to do. But, If you just compare Fallout: New Vegas and Borderlands both of which are an RPG then Borderlands looks way better. But, anyways as I already said the game is amazing and a must play for any RPG fan.
I've played Fallout: New Vegas for 3 hours and I must admit that I really like the game. Actually It's a lot better than Fallout 3. It's not exactly a continuation of Fallout 3 but does pick up a little bit of storyline from it. The only complaint that I have about Fallout: New Vegas is that the graphics don't seem that good. If you compare Fallout: New Vegas with the recently released games like Mafia II and Medal of Honor then the Fallout: New Vegas stands nowhere. Also the game has innumerable glitches. The movement of the characters doesn't seem right, the frame rate drops in some situations, side quests don't get added as they should. But, if you keep the glitches and graphics aside Fallout: New Vegas is a must play game for any RPG fan. I'd give Fallout: New Vegas a 3/5.
