The lower the better,I don't know about PS3 but on the PC 170 or less is ideal. if you start to go too high like 250 or more the game will start to pause for a swecond or two at a time...very choppy and not very smooth.

Gamers often refer to latency by the term ping, which measures round-trip network communication delays (by the use of ICMP packets). For example, a player on a DSL connection with a 50 ms "ping" will be able to react faster to game events than a modem user with 350 ms average latency. Another popular complaint is packet loss and choke, which can render a player unable to "register" their actions with the server. In first-person shooters, this problem usually manifests itself in the problem of bullets appearing to hit the enemy, but the enemy taking no damage. Note that the player's connection is not the only factor; the entire network path to the server is relevant, and some servers are slower than others. While latency is frequently complained about, many players believe a lack of finesse and decent tactics is more damaging than a slow connection in most games. Major and frequent variations in latency, however, can be another story; these can make it very difficult to properly play the game.

I'm curious when this first started the PS3 was in the 700+ TFLOP range but now we are lucky if we get into the 400+ TFLOP range, am I missing something? It seems like the more folding users we get the less TFLOP's we do? or am completly wrong on how it works?

wtf so Sony will need to pay 4 the wii's and not raise the price of the bundle, that is a big waste of $. I want to hear this from Phil Harrisondanthegardner99

They probably had a price cut coming to the PS3 but opted to bundle the Wii instead...I think it's a good idea.

If this is true then Microsft will probably start doing the same!...Nintendo would be laughing and rolling around in money.

In 3-4 years game will be totally photo realistic, just imagine what Cry Engine 3 will look like with 16 core processors and a R1000 video card.....Just like real life!(Seriously!)

Of course I don't want to think to much ahead though:D

Just wondering if there was any more info given at GDC on Call Of Duty modern combat? I've been waiting for a screenshot for months!
