Well, I just got back from Myrtle Beach, and I'm already bored. I was there for about a week, and we didn't do a whole lot there, but we definitely had a lot more fun there then we would've had here, so I'm glad we stayed. It was a little chilly outside most of the time, so I didn't actually stay at the beach a whole lot.
We went to the Mall a few times and it took me a while to decide what I wanted, after all, I only had 25 dollars to spend. Anyway, I decided to waste it like I usually do. This time I wasted it on a game called WTF, which stands for Work Time Fun for my PSP. Aside from that, I also bought a Chiodos CD, the album is titled "All's Well That Ends Well". It took me a while to get used to Craig Owen's high pitched vocals, but I began to like it. It does have some pretty sweet guitar riffs, but even though the CD isn't bad, I wish I would've spent it on a "As Blood Runs Black" CD or "Mastodon" for that matter.
The game I bought, WTF, can be defined best as "weird". I knew that I was going to get a weird game judging from the review on this website. It did, however, get a pretty good rating. So far I like it, even though it's very repetitive and you find yourself wasting hours and hours doing nothing but getting junk from a virtual vending machines. The goal of the game is to get money from completing jobs, and then use the money to get junk and unlock even more mindless jobs. A few of the jobs available are pretty fun, others can be difficult and be more frustrating than anything. I only bought the game because it had a funny title and I was in need of a game for my PSP, which I plan to sell sometime this year if I can.
What really made the trip to Myrtle Beach worthwhile was going to a concert at the House of Blues. I saw freaking Joe Satriani, one of the best guitarists of all time! I also saw John Petrucci (amazing guitarist from Dream Theater) and Paul Gilbert (from the unforgettable band Racer-X), and all of them amazed me, although my dad didn't believe me, because I had a blank expression on my face nearly the entire time because I was tired.
I was really surprised, because it turned out that when John Petrucci played, he brought with him the fantastic drummer Mike Portnoy! I could tell that he didn't even really care by the way he kept dropping lots of drumsticks, and he might have been drinking a little bit before the concert. Nevertheless, he was amazingly talented, and is definitely one of the best drummers out there.
Overall, I had a good time at Myrtle Beach, though it wouldn't have been nearly as fun if it weren't for the concert and being able to hang out with my awesome Aunt.Â
