Yeah, the differences are mainly aesthetic.

The standard DS can take far more damage though. I fell over on concrete in an odd twist of circumstance whilst my DS was in my pocket. After landing on it with all my weight, it still works perfectly.

I'd assume that the same result wouldn't have followed with the Lite.
