Usually, I'll start again...helps me get back into the storyline and any elements of the gameplay that I might have forgotten. If I'm at a later stage of a game though, I'll keep that file, but start a new game to help me remember key parts of the plot and "get in the zone". Then, I go back to the old game.

Works for me :).

Dragon Quest VIII, what a great game!Brotto

I second that notion heartily and would be playing it myself if my housemate hadn't half-inched it.

I've got GH and GH2, had them both for about four months now (was a little late onto the bandwagon) and Hard is probably my optimum level. I can 100% pretty much every song on Medium, but I like the challenge of Hard. Sadly, the difficulty curve from Medium to Hard is a little TOO steep for me, so I can't FC most songs (especially ones with quicker hammer-on/pull-off sections).

Still love the series though. Can't wait to get GH3! :)

Philadelphia Flyers - started supported them 'cos my uncle lived in Philly and is a rabid hockey fan, then got into hockey myself and found the exploits of the likes of Forsberg, Knuble, Gagne and Primeau the most entertaining. So, I'm now a Flyer through and through, even if we are a dirty bunch at times (yes, I'm looking at you, Randy Jones :P).

Agree with most on the list, especially Final Fantasy XII and Dragon Quest VIII, both very fine games (although I still haven't found the time to finish both of them :?). Don't really have a favourite RPG for the system, as none have been able to affect me like FFIX did. But, there are some RPG's worth mentioning:

Dark Cloud - Part RPG, part Sim City; a great little game full of dungeon crawling and re-building villages. Has a sequel, Dark Chronicle, but it tried to do TOO much in my opinion. Although, if you liked DC, may as well pick up DC2 as well.

Disgaea 2 - More of a strategy RPG, which involves playing your characters like chess pieces on a battle field. Absorbing battle system, some great characters, infectious humour and exploding penguins. Is quite difficult at time though.

Jade Cocoon 2 - bit strange in places, but the gameplay (especially the battle system) is both tactical and simple and all in all, a decent RPG. Also, looks purdy. :)

Still mean to buy Rogue Galaxy and Star Ocean before I put my PS2 to pasture and get myself a PS3, would anyone here recommend these two or should I give them a miss?

I've got both, still haven't finished both but from what I've seen so far, I'm going to go with Dragon Quest...for the simple reason that I much prefer a silent main character to two main characters that annoy the snot out of me.
