I don't think the game industry just saying these kinds of things is going to stop people from pirating games, whether it has a negative effect on the industry or not. The fact is people were making games before there was an industry, and they'll keep making them if it collapses. The issue is not that it's a victimless crime it's that it's a crime without consequence, and you can see just from the comments here that gamers in a lot of ways feel a sense of entitlement when they pirate a game. And Lawrencevanrijn had a great point, it's the lack of quality combined with high prices and enormous industry hype that probably leads to that feeling. The number of Wii games on here just seems kind of weird to me... did I miss the part where they pick the winner using Madden or did they replace that with this? Because that was at least a little more interesting. I watched one on Yahoo or something but the guy was lame.
