Jesus Christ... I never realized just how powerful the 8800 GTS is... goddamn, I might even need to get one. If it can run something like Company of Heroes at the highest resolution with 16xAF and 4xAA at 53 FPS and oblivion at those same settings at 30 FPS... congrats NVidia, you've outdone yourself.
the difference is this: The Nividia 7 series all use the same chip, but Nvidia can make one more powerful then the other by putting a bottleneck on it, thus making it less powerful even though its the same chip. So the difference is that the 7900 GT has almost no bottleneck, so its more powerful than the 7600, which has a pretty hefty bottleneck.
yeah you're right. The reason they're complaining is because they all want the best. And besides, who blames them? A card that does 40 frames NOW will only do 30 or less the next year, and BAM! you're spending 150-200$ every year, which is very, very annoying. I know, I used to to exactly that... now I have a 7900 GTX SLI set-up that has served me very, very well. And as for DX-10... unless I see a HUGE difference in graphical quality between dx-9 and dx-10 and I'm able to maintain playable frame-rates on the DX-9 enabled- DX10 games, I see no reason to upgrade... I spend 400-600 every 3-4 years, which is technically the same as spending 150 every year in the long run, but I'm a graphics whore, and I want the best framerates and the best resolution right now so I can assure myself that down the road, even if I'm playing a game at 800x600, at least I got a good 4-year run out of it, not just 1. btw, I just upgraded from a x1600 crossfire, and the difference between that and the 7900 GTX SLI is simply awe-inspiring..
1 Call of Duty 2 My god, I've only had this game for 5 months but I just can't stop playing it! I must put in at least 3 hours a day into the game, whether it's single-player or multi-player. 2 Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory I've played each of its missions at least 60 times. To me, it's that good. I just love the endless posibilites for tactics. To you cap a guy in the face point-blank or do you completely avoid him, the guy never knowing you were there or even existed? 3 Morrowind I've played this game to death. TO DEATH. I mean, I've owned this game for a year and there's probably like 300 quests/missions that I still haven't done. 4 Guild Wars I've owned this game for a year, but never really played it. I played it a lot for the first month, but then I couldn't find enough time to play it... but It's summer now, and now that I got all the time in the world (well, three months)... I'm playing it non-stop. 5 Ratchet and Clank 3: Up Your Arsenal This is one of my favorite games. I still play it, 2 years later. Although I sometimes get bored with it nowadays, I'd still take this with me. now, I have a list of potential list-makers: Spore Loco-Roco Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters Resistance: Fall of Man Battlefield 2141
uh-huh... what's that, Ratchet and Clank PS3, Jak PS3, Vision Gran Turismo, DMC 4, Metal Gear Solid 4: GotP, Wipeout PS3, Killzone 2, Tekken PS3, Heavenly Sword, Mercenaries 2, Assasin's Creed, Resistance: Fall of Man (or I-8- Insomniac's eighth project)? Did you say that somebody just dissed you? Well then, kill him! Nah, I'm just kiddin'. But why should we give our money to the American monopolic monstrosity that is Microsoft? Why should we give them our money instead of giving it to Sony or Nintendo? So we can fork over our cash to the american government so that they can keep playing their little war game? Oh, wait a minute... I already do that when I buy my PS2 in the USA. huh. and P.S Bioshock isn't exactly exclusive; it's coming out for PC as well.
