That doesn't deserve to be on the floor.
I'm playing my part, man.
He had curiously stumbled into some parties, but even with a mass collection of peers and familiar faces he still felt loss. Other than a glance, nobody bothered to acknowledge his existence. He felt transparent; whispers of no doubt untrue gossip, a stranger among faces he knew. He idly wondered if his purpose was to live as Casper the Friendly Ghost, but immediately discarded the ideal because even Casper received attention. Suddenly he was held by the powers of communication but at one point realized he was actually having a conversation with himself; the man he was talking to was sprawled quite ridiculously atop a couch, unconscious.
Strolling through darkness was relaxing. He inadvertently thought of a phrase, "It's better to be on evil's side than in its path." He shook his head. Despite never being rewarded for it, he was an honest man, or at least as honest as this day and age would allow.
