I couldn't afford an Xbox, when the first one came out, so I often found myself walking to my friend's house to oblige. Jordan, or more appropriately Jordy, was eager to show me the ropes. We played versus to get me used to the controls, and after mastering the learning curve, we ended the day in cooperative play. My first impressions were negative, and I found the game too hyped.
It wasn't that different from any other first-person shooter, but it was there at exactly the right place at exactly the right time. Every Xbox owner I knew must had only bought the console to indulge in what was the most popular thing to do at the time. Oh ye of little faith...
