when i first started playing video games it was just gamers. mom dad brother sister etc weren't part of the picture for most games and gaming companies. i still remember buying video games and not a casual add on in sight. but as soon as nintendo targeted that demographic and basically monopolized it started a change in the industry. it's 2010 now and console makers have caught on and are strating there march towards casual gaming, this leaves a hole in a "core" gamer such as my self seeing that instead of improving the console and fine tuning it the console is now trying to do everything. But don't they realise casual gaming is casual theres only so many sports or mini game collections that a casual gamer can buy, then what they sell more consoles and motion controllers or cameras. i feel that while a wider audience is good let's not forget who made the audience in the first place. It's 2010 and there is a change coming.
