@fellsorcerer: “No one needs more than 10 games on demand”...you don’t know me very well. I have over 3tb of PS4 games I have on an external drive. I like being able to start up any number of random games when the mood hits. Right now my PS5 hard drive has 70 GB free. SEVENTY! I have 10 games installed. Basically if I buy two more games I need to start deleting because I have no choice.

Thanks to someone else for the numbering idea - see my list at the bottom. Otherwise, here are my thoughts on the series... I've played all the mainline games since AC 1. I got the first one for Christmas and it instantly became one of my favorite series.

The concept of the original is still great but the missions were limited and the game wasn't half the length they are not. Not a criticism but a point that a lot goes into these games now than they did then. I do have a place in my heart for the original concept - it was very much about the assassins, but also very much about the fight with the Templars (in the past and present).

I do wish they would have continued to invest in the batshit story they mostly stopped talking about after AC3. Seems once Desmond left that was the end of the deeper conspiracy theories. Of the original trilogy, AC 2 was my favorite story.

From there, stories matter but the part of the greater whole does not seem to be. And maybe that was what they got from feedback - that people like the setting and gameplay but not the dual story so much. In any case, I still think they have made great improvements in many areas, especially gameplay.

People may not remember how clumsy climbing and jumping could feel, but I do. Those things didn't really get fixed till Syndicate. Which was a huge improvement over Unity (the one AC game to this day I own but cannot finish because the combat is horrible).

Finally, because it's going to be my number 1, I should talk about Odyssey. Odyssey improves on all the formulas. It gains a lot of traction from Origins which made a vast improvement on combat speed, fluidity, and variety. Combat is just more engaging than it used to be. It's evolved. And for a series this old it needs to. The RPG elements are fun and welcomed. Who don't love leveling up their character and gear?

The game itself is massive. Honestly it scales almost towards the size of Witcher 3 to me. The storytelling isn't quite that deep (in terms of modern day ties) but on it's own it's shockingly involved. I give Ubisoft major props for the technical and storytelling achievement they've leveled up to with these games. After they stumbled through Unity, the last three games have actually been fantastic.

And now the TL;DR:

1. AC: Odyssey

2. AC II/Botherhood

3. AC: Syndicate

4. AC: Origins

5. AC

6. AC: Black Flag

7. AC III

8. AC: Unity

I know it's cheating to put AC II and Brotherhood in the same slot but they really are one big game to me.

Would you MAC people get off your high horse. Did Gamespot do any MAC bashing? No. So what? When MAC OS XI comes out should all the Microsoft people say...'No fair. Apple paid them! Gamespot is biased Apple lovers that hate Microsoft!' PLEASE! Don't you see how silly you sound? Relax.

Costello182 LOL! Yes...happy you. Happy me. We'll be happy together. And frustrate all the people that so dearly want to not be happy right now.

Also to JeffreyCor. Basic DOES NOT include Aero, nor does it include Windows Media Center. Those are both functions that people CAN benefit from. The jump in price is what? A mere $40 or $60 to have the Home Premium version.

The Media Center functionality that works with my XBOX 360 with Vista is a great upgrade to me too. I love the interface and now I can watch videos that I download on Gamespot in HD on my home theater projector :D Life just got a little more spoiled :)

I own Vista Ultimate and am running it on my Sony Vaio notebook. It's a nice interface and is designed to be less cluttered and simpiler to use. The Flip 3D is fun and easy to use. The features are getting more second nature with each day that I use it. Many welcome features. One thing that I actually enjoy most of all is the font. I don't know what the default font is for the lettering, but it is more appealing to the eye. Also the 'gagets' are fun. I am using it for the time, calander (date), the weather, and for random pictures (which can be customized). I am also using the new Office 2007, which has several welcome upgrades both visually and functionally. I think Microsoft is doing a good job and is headed in the right direction. Whether they got ideas from Apple, or they created it themselves, I say 'WHO CARES!' I'm just glad its in here.

The point is, nightfire99, not everyone wants a BluRay player! I don't. First off, I feel it's inferior to HD-DVD in video quality, second it's more expensive to manufacture, and third...what's causing the delays and shortage...BLURAY! Not EVERYONE who wants a Playstation 3 wants to buy BluRay movies. That's just Sony pushing their agenda. Not all of us are mindless minions taking what Sony is dishing. This is more about Sony's BluRay technology having a marketshare hold then it is about a video game system. If it becomes dominant they'll get a lot of commission in the back end. If it FAILS??? Then they've wasted your money and mine and it will be all the more difficult to justify bringing the price down with a niche media format. Microsoft is simply not playing that gambling game. To their betterment or failure, I don't know. But overall as a business decision it is probably wiser. And they don't have as much at stake as Sony does with BluRay. This could litterally make or break the company. They've put all their eggs in this basket. Wisdom or foolishness. Time will tell.

nightfire99. The only point to the HD-DVD player is to play HD-DVDs. So to compare that with a network adaptor or a PS2 hard drive is just the wrong comparison. Those are for games...the HD-DVD add on is for movies. So if you want next gen movies, that's what you get that for, and the only thing you get it for...
