Is it worth an upgrade from a pentium 4 3ghz to core 2 duo e4500 @ 2.2ghz for current games like bioshock, crysis, GOW etc?

i already have a 7900gs and 2gb ram. normally i'd just play in 1024x768 but i'd like all my settings maxed. appreciate your help. :)
