WTF? Jeff? Gamespot shows their true colors.

I'm now regretting that I didn't end my yearly subscription earlier.

I've been a member on gamespot and have even paid the subscription fees for a few years. This used to be a great site for the community (forums) and video game reviews. They had entertaining content such as "On the Spot," which I would download every week. However, something has changed over the last year that has made me reconsider and ultimately cancel my gamespot subscription.

While there are still some folks at gamespot that I like, the loss of Kasavin, Gallup, and now Gerstmann just makes it that much easier to leave this place. Greg and Rich left on their own accord, so I believe, but to fire Jeff? He has been the heart and soul of gamespot for many years. In some crazy way I hope that the reason for his "release" was that he gave the finger to someone trying to tell him how to do his job or how to score a certain game.

If Jeff's termination really had something to do with his mediocre score of the mediocre game "Kane and Lynch," then visitors of your site should know that gamespot is no longer objective when it comes to reviewing games. Rather, gamespot is just another marketing tool for the video game industry.

Maybe this explains the few garbage reviews that you've given certain PS3 games? Did Jeff finally stand up to your BS? Bah.... That's for another blog.

Thanks to Rich Gallup

Here is the first, and possibly only, entry on my "blog." I just wanted to say "Thanks" to Rich for everything that he has added to GameSpot. Even though I've only been a member for a few years, I have been watching, reading, and enjoying this site for quite a while.

As a follower of the "happenings" on GameSpot, I knew that Rich was getting married, which is a wonderful institution. Personally, I've been married for twelve years, so I have a bit of knowledge of what he's getting into. When I first heard about his upcoming nuptials, I had a feeling that he would be moving on to other things. I want to tell you, Rich, that I wish you and your wife the best, and I hope that you two can enjoy life together in a way similar to my wife and myself (if not better).

As for GameSpot, it will survive. Rich raised the bar for the quality of the live productions, so the foundation is set. While Rich will not be replaced, I'm sure that someone will be able to build upon what he has done.

Thanks again, Rich. We will miss you.
