@maletizer @adysouth Absolutely Maletizer. It's not about the length, but quite rightly, as you say, how it sucks you in. I haven't played an online shooter that I like. It just seems to me to be a bunch of people running around like headless chickens until you get shot or shoot someone. Perhaps I haven't experienced the right one yet? As far as MMO'S are concerned ; I think I'm beginning to understand them. I don't have a PC, only console, so am not sure if that dilutes the experience. Thanks for the info though.
@maletizer @waywaynik Honestly, don't you think most games loose their initial luster after a while. The only games i've been completely absorbed by lately were Bioshock, and yes Infinite, and The Last Of Us on PS4. Even GTA5 wore me down a bit. And Skyrim, I haven't been near that since the 150 hour point. Maybe we don't need games to be as long as we think. Quality over quantity is what I mean. I know some developers have been saying this for a while now. Well, could it be that they may have an argument?
Been trying to download it from PSN since yesterday. Apparently the games servers are down. Cannot get anymore info than that. Wish I'd just, you know, gone to the store and bought a disk copy. Reason why Microsoft's initial policy was effed up.
@smokeless_0225 @Cloister56 @Gegglington @adysouth I never owned a console until the original Playstation. I think I was a computer game fanboy. I remember feeling loyalty to computers over consoles, all the while knowing deep down that consoles were more technologically advanced. For games at least. Very silly. I also remember the first time I tried holding a gamepad. I couldn't use it. It felt completely alien. I was so used to a joystick.
The very first gaming console I owned was an Atari 2600. I then progressed to a Commodore 64 and then an Amiga. And even though I loved video games, ( I was also a fixture in the local arcade), I always remember wanting more. A real story, like the movies. A feeling of really playing soccer in a packed stadium (International Soccer for the C64 just didn't quite do it. Although Sensible was better). Confident that, even though Outrun was fun, it wasn't quite how driving a ferrari in real life would be. Fast forward 25+ years, and now is exactly how I hoped video games would be then. Look at these experiences that are being created for us. What a fantastic time to be a gamer. Granted an old one, but a gamer nonetheless.
Don't know what you all were watching, but I thought this game looked awesome. Still undecided which platform I'm gonna get, but if it's XBOX I'll be picking this up. Have both Dead Rising 1 and 2 on 360 and, while I love the gameplay, the timer kills it for me.
Am I the only one that thinks this looks amazing. Way better than current gen consoles. And no, I don't own a gaming PC so can't compare. However, I prefer consoles and if this is the standard then I'm super excited. And yes, fucking fanboys, I'm excited for all gamers, whichever platform you choose.
