I am talking about game play wise. I think it is Operation Flash Point and Americas Army. Do any of you know if there is any more realistic games than those. I just can't wait for O.FP:2 to come out.

I really cant pick Oblivion or Fallout 3. Oblivion had a better open world feel and transportation (horses)

Fighting

I think Fallout 3 has a foothold here Unlike the mixture of hitting a wolf with a sword while tossing the usual fireball in their direction, Fallout 3's features come to life thanks to V.A.T.S. Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System,. It's slick, sick, thoroughly gory, adds a neat tactical element to proceedings and simply never gets boring. Result for Fallout boy this time

Timeline and quests

A much more of a story than Oblivion's Daedra plotline gives Fallout 3 the some ground. but twenty hours of wandering the Capital Wastelands failed to find anything that ever quite matched the lofty standards set by the final few Thieves' Guild and Dark Brotherhood escapades. Worse still, without any real alternatives to Oblivion's guild quests it's hard to shake the feeling of an opportunity missed. Fallout 3 has good game play if not better but Oblivion has a great story and lasts longer and you get your moneys worth, not to mention the 2 expansions to it

Exploration of the game world

It's been well documented just how teeny the Capital Wastelands seem in comparison to the sprawling world of Tamriel, and - in terms of square kilometres - it's true enough. a bit narked that, unlike your trusty horsie in the last Elder Scrolls outing, there's no form of transport apart from your knackered tootsies in the radioactive world of Fallout 3. Saying that, the wasteland does win out in terms of sheer denseness...

What game story would you like to see put into a game from a movie, book, thought, experience?

I am going to school for videogame design and I am just looking for some ideas. I liked the movie "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" and I think it would be an excellent game. Your in the early 1900's and you escape from a prison and make it into a really good story incorporating things like the frostbite engine from Battlefield:Bad Company making the environment totally destructable. Having ideas from LittleBig Planet and Garry's mod so you can create many contraptions and making good use of the physics engine. Having the game better than the sum of its parts and free roaming world like Grand Theft Auto IV. I would like to create a leveling up system and HUGE character custumization possibilities such as Oblivion and Fallout 3.

Well, thats about it, tell me about what game you would love to have made.

Indigo Prophecy for the regular xbox. That game gets you so much involved than any other game that I have played and it ends up with a realistic unexpectancy.

I would have to say Garrys mod from the steam source engine modification. I could do what ever I want and it could put all the other games together.

The Oblivion soundtrack is a masterpiece and fits into the game very well. It never gets too old and does not feel overplayed.

Garrys mod is a mod for halflife 2 and it is the best game I have ever played and it does not get much recognition. This game literally lets you do what ever you want and you can make anything and there is unlimited possibilities. I would like to see a game developer make a stand-alone game for a console just like this and I would bet that it would be a hit in no time. If you do not know anything about it I would highly recommend that you check it out and watch videos of it.

What is it?

Garry's Mod is a sandbox mod for the Source Engine. Unlike normal games there aren't any predefined aims or goals. Players are given tools and are left to entertain themselves.

The player is in a world where objects can be created and destroyed on demand. Where people can be created and destroyed with the click of a mouse. A world made for him. A world he made.

So what do you do?

There are a lot of things you can do with Garry's Mod, but here's a few of the more common uses.

Construction

Garry's Mod provides tools to constrain objects together in various ways. Using these tools the player can create working contraptions.

The simplest example is a car. The player spawns an object to be used for the car's body then adds wheels by firing the tool gun at the object. Wheels are then controllable using the numpad on your keyboard.

You don't have to make moving contraptions though - want to build a fort out of wooden crates then set it on fire? Go for it! Want to build a house using fridges for the walls and mattresses for the ceiling then drive a jeep into it all? Go for it!

Posing and Comics

One of the universal appeals of Garry's Mod has been the ability to place and pose ragdolls. This allows you to create your own comic books and share them online. One major comic spawned from this is HLComic - the story of Gordon Frohman's journey in City 17.

Garry's Mod gives you the ability to place ragdolls, manipulate their facial expressions and aim their eyes.

Gamemodes

Garry's Mod gives the ability to program your own gamemodes (Don't worry - you don't need to be a programmer to play them). This allows the community to make new, often wacky, gamemodes such as melon racing, build to the top and so on.

It's often worth taking a look in the server list to see if any of the games prick your attention - there's often something weird there to try out.

So I was thinking that if we had a stand-alone game simular to this then it would be a great acheivement!
