Or you could support GS and it's community And boycot reviews until GS gets enough hits to show it still has a customer base but won't review until it picks up a more reliable parent company to take part in reviews again, that way the staff doesn't have to leave and has something to look forward toI have been supporting it for years - heck I'm nearly as old as Jeff and use to come here all the way back to the Unreal and Quake days..
This last year have been disasterous... half the crew quit ( can't blame them, seems a lot have been going on behind the facade ) and advertising started getting crazy - even for a paying member ( currently I have CHOW commercials about chokolate, about 7 CNET site links and a ton game titles, that funny enough are all wii games )
THis is the end, like it or not, Jeff was the backbone of this operation, if in doubt just google his name - heck all games sites are going crazy over this move - even here in Denmark!!
The CNET share is very unstable and will not be able to take this - that means 3 things can happen, CNET gets bough up, CNET devides and seels off GS to the highest bidder ( I'm guessing EA or MS ) or they close down the site and focus on GameFAQs
Either case is a lose lose situation for the community... feel free to cling on to your beliefes that it will rise ( I've been doing that for several months ) - but trust me mate it will suffer a slow death!
Jeff won't return he has already been offered several jobs in both game development and gaming media.. noone will return, it's over!
Remeber "New Coke"?.... history repeats itself - unless you respect the community and customers -CNET does neither - RIP!
Viva la Jeff all the way from Saudi Arabia in the Middle East even... How could they do that?! I can't imagine the site without him.
