It looks like I've been inflicted with gaming fever. It was a very slow process that began a decade ago, but it seems I have finally reached the pinnacle of gaming freedom.
It all started a decade ago. I was at my neighbour's house playing Super Street Fighter II on their brand spanking new Super Nintendo. Since then I always gamed in secret. I bought myself a Gameboy Color and played Pokemon Yellow in my closet, scared that I was just like every other boy and nothing special.
Ten years have passed, I'm 21 and can finally say that I'm a gamer. Perhaps not as hardcore as the trolls on Gamespot Forums, but definitely a gamer. I believe gaming became more acceptable when the App Store introduced thousands of games to us iPhone users. It became okay for people to casually play their iPhone games on their train rides to work and thus initiated my gaming freedom.
It is unfortunate that some people still have the preconceived idea that gaming is for fat kids, but hopefully gaming takes itself to a different level. Where it is seen as an interactive art as opposed to a lazy sport. Now where is my DS Charger?
