I think it is a given that NFS:Most Wanted has been the most fun NFS...

The gameplay/ car models/ physics/ realism of NFS:Shift is a step forward though. Now to get that to work somehow on a Most Wanted type campaign, persuits, free roam world, More race variety (Pro-street + Most Wanted.) A NICE STORY (screw Undercover)

and I think we would have a winner..

PLEASE make it harder to go from one car to another. I want "driver levels" to mean something. Make cars difficult to obtain....I want to keep a car and slowly mod it to compete at higher difficulties so I won't have to buy another car til I reach that Porsche 911 GT3 RS :) and then mod that to compete at higher difficulties.

I want to have a certain loyalty to the car I am driving. Mod it specifically and be proud of how good it is.

Undercover was a joke in realism and in story...too arcady

Pro-street was very fun imho...especially the drifting and the drag races. It was missing something though (see NFS U/NFS U2/ NFS Most Wanted).

Underground hasn't aged well.

The Baldur's Gate Series.

So far my favorite RPG of all time.

BTW no one mentioned the Diablo Series..... I thought they were very good if not excellent.

I never played Planescape Torment. I just can't get past the dated gameplay.

Bioware (mostly Black Isle titles) - BG series, Fallout series and Planescape Torment...these three were so good, they made me cry. Very story driven with great gameplay.

Bethesda - Elderscrolls series and they did great with Fallout 3 imho. They get too much unnecessary hate.

Blizzard - They make mostly RTS' which is fine...but time wasters for me. Diablo series is stupid fun.

Any project from any of tthose three are pretty much must buys.

Baldur's Gate series should include Planescape Torment, IceWind Dale, and the NWN games (which I didn't like asmuch). Threadstarter wanted to seperate this behemoth to make the poll more interesting.

Bethesda is doing a fine job though. Fallout 3 and the Elderscrolls are extremely good games.

For some reason, I hated the Witcher/ didn't care for the plot/...I am surprised so many people enjoy it. Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2 were boring imho.

I definately liked Oblivion better and Fallout 3 was very good too. Bethesda is doing a fine job balancing nice graphics with plot and RPG elements.

but nothing compares to the pure epicness of the Baldur's Gate series in my experience so far. Just played through it again, and was still hooked like no other RPG that has come out recently.
