Oh and btw just because crackdown got 7.5 only doesnt mean that crackdown 2 wont be gud. The uncharted series is proof of that. The first one got 8 but the second one got a 9.5 didnt it?
@darthogre
I am sorry if i made an error anywhere but i was just being analytical. I didnt mention MAG, Heavy Rain, Yakuza because while each of them being brilliant games on its own (I personally wish to try out Heavy Rain, having enjoyed the developers previous offering : Indigo Prophecy), God of War and Mass Effect 2 were the only Editor's Choice games on the list. And lets be honest don't u think that GOW3 was the PS3's 100% assured AAA score this year. And I think i mentioned that I was including games that were on one platform and not on the other. If u didnt wish for that then i shudnt have included ff14 which is coming for pc as well....... Dont take it hard. From an average gamer point of view, both consoles are splendid having given us excellent games in the past. They are set to continue that this year. This thread is just speculation.
Actually mtradr43 u r rite.... while preparing this list I noticed that XBL has a lot of games both available and lined up while the PSN has comparatively few. I was tempted to include them as well but I decided to stick with the disc games.
What have I forgotten?
Well we are halfway through March and the first quarter of 2010 is almost over. Let's take a look at what was released for the Xbox 360 and for the PS3 this year and what is lined up. The format is as follows: Release Date - Game Title - Platform - Gamespot Score - User Score. And remember, we are comparing games that are on one platform and not on the other regardless of whether they are on PC as well.......
24/01/2010-MAG - PS3 -8.0/8.1
26/01/2010 -Mass Effect 2- Xbox 360 -9.0/9.4
31/01/2010-White Knight Chronicles - PS3 -6.0/8.1
16/02/2010 Tropico 3 -Xbox 360 -6.5/7.1
21/02/2010- Heavy Rain- PS3 -8.5/9.1
22/02/2010 - Risen -Xbox 360 -6.0/6.8
23/02/2010- Last Rebellion - PS3 -N\A/6.7
09/03/2010-Yakuza- PS3 -8.0/8.8
16/03/2010- God of War 3- PS3 -9.0/9.6
Well, so far the PS3 seems to be winning, thanks in no small part to the excellent God of War 3. The 360 saves its grace only with the brilliant Mass Effect 2, among two other crass games. Let's take a look at what's lined up for the two platforms as of 2010 - 2011...
PS3:
Agent
The Last Guardian
Gran Turismo 5
EyePet (As of March 2010, Eurogamer has scored it 6 on 10)
Final Fantasy Versus 13
Final Fantasy 14
PS3 Motion Controller
XBOX 360:
Fable 3
Crackdown 2
Alan Wake
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction
Halo: Reach
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - Stimulus Package [Exclusive DLC with PC/PS3 releases at later unspecified dates].
Project Natal
Game Room
Seeing the future ahead, my opinion is that the Xbox is set to have one of the most smashing years ahead. Not only is the Xbox team finally entering the motion games field (with a controller free gaming), but its innovation stretches to their games such as Alan Wake. The first of its genre and widely anticipated (partly because of it coming from the writer of Max Payne), Alan Wake is expected to be a summer blockbuster. The Game Room is another fine addition to online social activities.
However the PS3 isn't ready to give up its lead yet and following up with high profile sequels such as GT5 and FFV13, the PS3 may yet retain its position. Only time will tell.
The Xbox 360 is one of the new-gen consoles and alongwith the Ps3 define cutting-edge graphics and gameplay. And the Xbox 360 controller trumps every other one out there. The Ps3 having brought blu-ray to us is a mammoth that has a bright future. The Wii is holding back the developers in terms of graphics. When the Wii HD releases the game industry can move forward.
