so the video worked through hdmi and the audio worked through component cables simulaneously? cuz that's what i want to do
that's the wrong adapter though.... dang.... it needs to be female to female i believe. so if anyone can find one of those than let me know
Yo, I'm thinking about buying a PS3, but I want to be able to hook it up to my monitor (http://www.staples.com/eMachines-E211H-21.5-Widescreen-LCD-Monitor/product_824688?storeId=10001&jspStoreDir=Staples&cmSearchKeyword=emachine&fromUrl=home&langId=-1&catalogId=10051&cmArea=SEARCH&ddkey=StaplesSearch). My uncle has an HDMI cord and an HDMI->DVI converter so that SHOULD make it so I can have visuals in full 1080p correct?
Now what about sound, I was thinking that I can use the component cables and an RCA to 1/8" stereo Y-adapter (http://cgi.ebay.com/3-5-MM-1-8-MALE-STEREO-PLUG-to-RCA-FEMALE-Y-ADAPTER-6_W0QQitemZ130358423309QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item1e59f7af0d). Plug that into my speakers and then I should have sound, if I change the settings, correct?
Now the only problem is, can I do this? Can an HDMI cord and component cables connect at the same time on the PS3?
If there is any other way that's cheaper/easier please let me know, thanks for any help!
