The Last Guardian, and Assassin's Creed is.... one of a kind, but very massive. I usually mention Valkyria Chronicles, but you already said it.funsohng
Yeah The Last Gaurdian looks pretty interesting. Although there really isnt anything on it quite yet I am following it. And Assassins Creed is pretty good I just hate it when games end so sudenly. I think games should at least feel like you learned something or accomplished something instead of just dropping off randomly. I felt pretty let down at the end of the first Assassins Creed. Thanks for the suggestions. :)

You're on a gaming website, why don't you just look for yourself? :|

If it helps, there's a "game recommendation" sticky in the forum.

KlepticGrooves

To be honest I have looked through all PS3 games. I just probably missed acouple games and having some opinions and experienced thoughts helps abit.

If you're looking for something recent, then I also recommend Heavy Rain. The most unique game I've played this generation. But if you can find it, and have something to play it on, I recommend Killer 7 as well. It's a terribly underrated game for the PS2 and Gamecube. It's a bit old now I suppose, but it's very unique and a lot of people missed out on it. You probably won't find it locally, but it's only 20 bucks new on amazon.

Yeah Killer 7 looks pretty awesome. I havent seen a copy but if i do i will deffinetly pick it up.

I hear you on the need for something that breaks the genres, but you know that's a bit on the implausible side of things, as an expectation. There hasn't been anything that radical for a few years now (not to say someone won't come up with something truly original ever again), so really what I might suggest is a lateral step into a game type that you might have never played or wouldn't think to play. If you have been an action gamer or an RPG fan, get off those rails or try a different flavor.

I never see "IL*2 Sturmovick" listed in people's collections... it's an air combat game, but what I think makes it unique is it's attention to detail and the ability to make all of the mechanics and enemy AI so realistic you'll gain a new respect for pilots of the era as well as becoming a much more skilled pilot yourself.

Get the "Sega Collection", and go old-school.

"Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3", or "R.U.S.E." RTS.

Have you ever played "Metal Gear Solid" or "Castlevania SotN" on PSOne Classic. Those games are GREAT action/ adventure games no matter how old they get.

If you can't find anything in the present or future, I'm sure there are plenty of games in the past you haven't gotten through yet.

:D

Haha I actually own every version of Metal Gear Solid except the PS1 Greatest Hits version, along with all the sequels. And I own a copy of IL*2 Sturmovick and the Genesis Collection and have beaten SotN. But maybe I will try Red Alert. Thanks for the suggestions, you have a good taste in games.

[QUOTE="albatrosity"]

Shooters, beat 'em ups and boring RPGs. This consists of the gamesI have looked through recently. I am looking for some interesting games that ar not just a clone of God of War, Call of Duty or the ever bland Final Fantasy XIII. I am not saying I don't like RPGs or shooters or beat 'em ups, I am just looking for something that sets its self apart. Games which follow this idea are Folklore, Valkyria Chronicles, or the very intriguing, upcoming game, El Shaddai. Also, though I admittedly do not know much about it, Knights Contract looks like it could be sort of interesting with the whole Witch girl being your health instead of your character having health. So if you know of any games that are out or coming out that look unique in their own way I would much appreciate your time to list it/them off in this thread. Thank you very much and good gaming to you. :)

Try Portal - it's in the Orange Box set. It's unique and it'll get you ready for Portal 2.

Yeah i actually love portal and Half Life has been my favorite shooter since the first one on PC. Im hoping for a new Half life Bundle for consols that comes with Half Life 2 and all the episodes along with the remake of Half life called Black Mesa.
