A few years back you could get NHL, Madden, Rugby, Tiger Woods, Cricket and FIFA on PC, then all of a sudden, like a thief in the night, they just disappeared. I am personally a huge sport fan, and I am an equally big PC gaming fan. But sadly I can’t get the best of both worlds. I am not going to buy a console just to play sport games (that is literally all I would do if I were to get one) Turns out 2009 was a very sad year for sports games on PC, it was the first year we had to mourn the loss of our beloved Madden and Rugby games, it was also NHL’s last year on the PC platform. If im not mistaken the last Tiger Woods game was released in 2012. So what are we left with? FIFA from EA, which is okay, and NBA 2k14 (which I personally could care less about)
What boggles my mind even more, is that all these games are still made for Xbox. I get that a keyboard isn’t ideal for sport games, but controllers do exist, the Xbox 360 controller works brilliantly with PC, so why can’t we have a new rugby game? Why can’t we have a Madden? I mean you can’t blame licensing since they are released on other platforms, so what is the reasoning behind it? Poor sales? Laziness?
Are we ever going to get sport games again? Or am I going to have to suck it up and get an Xbone?
