It's actually a pretty good game, however Journey to Silius is still the best side scroller that gets over looked, and its music is the best on the NES in my opinion. All the hate for 2010 doesnt make a while lot of sense though, other then the fact that the name "target for each boss seems highly generic. The gameplay is good, but not spectacular. Also it gets very repetitive. That's not to say the game isnt a good play through though. Some of my favorite games are made by KOEI, and most of their games are all about repetition.

Never heard of that game, just looked up some of it's music on youtube and it sounds pretty sweet... gonna buy it on amazon tomorrow! Thanks for the tip ;)

No problem, I'm glad I could help :) If you want any more game ideas, let me know.

Well then, what (somewhat unknown) NES game would you say has in your opinion the best music?

I have two... I lent my copy of MGS Twin Snakes to my brother for a sleep over, and it came back split in half (the disc). Now it's kind of expensive, which sucks. Also my copy of Phantasy Star Online Ep l & ll was scratched to destruction by my little brother, also worth a pretty penny online.

What're some games you've had broken in the past that still haunt your very soul to this day?

Please don't mistake me for trying to be rude or insulting you, but I really urge you to get farther in the game, as while you say the gameplay is so similar, I honestly think SF2010 has more variety than any other side scroller for the NES. Some levels scroll right to left, some vertically, some even back and forth... some levels have unstable ground and pit you immediately against a boss, some put you in an arena with a quote for smaller enemies... I really can't find a single flaw in the game.

Regardless of whether it was supposed to be a "Street Fighter" game or not and whether it lived up us as such; it's still a mediocre NES game. There's nothing special about it. The enemies, sprites, and environments are all generic and "blah". The only thing that stands out about the game is the music, which is actually pretty good.

How far in the game have you gotten may I ask?

[QUOTE="Dj-Dampleaf"]I know it's just like bubsy 3D. It's always "Ha, the controls aren't the same thing all the other games do" and "the backgrounds look like a beta computer" but they don't realize Bubsy 3D is one of the best platformers of all time. The precision camera and platforming, which is intuitive because the camera pans down along the target platform. the superior object placement and the fact the controls differ from most other games making it unique and require strategy. like a Strategy platformer, since you can only get things done by moving bubsy in a certain way. Heck, the music and controls are better than Mario, it's just that Bubsy did not pay reviews, no real gameplay criticisms are associated with this game. The animations and framerate are flawless and a high resolution. the voice acting is superb and funny, and if Gex can get away with it why not bubsy? Not to mention tons of levels that are all unique with tons of content making it a long lasting games, something you need to strategize making it hard to speed run and beat in 1 hour like say banjo or Mario 64. Obviously I agree with you and also notice people do this kind of things with bubsy 3D as well Bubsy 3D was the best platformer 5th gen and is one of the best platformers of all time!!!

The fact that you typed 2 paragraphs of pure sarcasm, I'm guessing you dislike Street Fighter 2010? I'm not downing people for disliking it, I'm just confused, as my experience with the game was perfect.

Every review I've seen of the game shares the same criticisms; it's too hard, poor controls, and OMG IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH STREET FIGHTER.

Just last weekend I played and beat the game, and truly was shocked at it's quality.

The controls I found to be near perfect, allowing for an insane amount of moves, using a controller with just two buttons - punch, jump, back flip, diagnal kick, far punch, ect.

The difficulty again I thought to be perfect - never did I die due to the game's shortcommings or design flaws... in fact I can now beat the game without getting a game over once, and it's been less than a week (not saying it's not difficult, but that it's never difficult due to design flaws).

Music is among the best I've heard on the NES, it seems to always fit the stage perfectly, and are easily remembered after the game is shut off.

Top it off with an interesting enough story and excellent visuals - I just don't understand why this game isn't held in the same light as Mega Man2, Bionic Commando, and Ninja Gaiden. And speaking of Ninja Gaiden, while it's a terrific game, it's essentially a test of memorization. You are absolutely REQUIRED to play the same level multiple times, remember every enemy spawn point and act accordingly. So much so that every run through the same level looks exactly alike - there's truly no room in Ninja Gaiden for improvising, yet that game is very often herald as a classic. I think another point is the enemy AI - in Ninja Gaiden, it seems the enemies would do the exact same thing whether you were there or not, they just walk their scripted path. While in SF2010, essentially every enemy reacts differently depending on where you are on the screen, making no two play-throughs alike.

Forgive me for the novel, but I really just don't understand how some games are revered so much while SF2010 seems to be completely forgotten... anyone else have any experiences with this game?
