First i have BOTH an xbox 360 and a PS3 and enjoy both. Most the people posting here don't seem to have a clue and talk out of their arse (mccurling - "as far as graphics are concerned - they both look so similar except for the bad anti aliasing on the xbox games - yuk!"). PS3 is outselling the 360 in Japan and most of europe (specifically not the uk where the 360 is strong), the 360 is dominating america. Generally most multi-platform games run better on the 360 due to its simpler architecture, due to the complicated nature of the cell processer most people can only truly take advantage of it if theyre developing only for the ps3 (see EA sports games last year that ran at 60fps on the 360 and 30fps on the ps3 compared to say MGS4/GT5P...one game that does defy that rule is burnout paradise but the ps3 was lead). A recent trend seems to be to drop the resolution of ps3 titles below 720p to make it run at the same frame rate, see GTA IV. I believe the ps3 gpu only has 256mb of memory too compared to the 360 which has 512mb which along with the resolution issue explains the lower res textures/blurry visuals on many ps3 games (see orange box... :|) Overall id say on the whole that 360 games look better than ps3 games despite me running my 360 on compionent and ps3 on hdmi. But more importantly, the 360 provides a much better and particularly a social experience, and that is coming from someone who has had every playstation console and hated the original xbox. Until the ps3 has the cross media bar integrated into games including friends list, messages, chat/game invite etc then the console will continue to be a single player experience and will be 2nd best to most gamers. I could not recommend the ps3 over the 360 to any friend, because as a friend i want to socialise with them while on my console and the ps3 only gets in the way of that with its infrastructure. Having said that, if you have plenty of money there are enough exclusives to warrant a purchase for single player enjoyment.

castilloe10 HEY LET TAKES PICTURE OF OUR SELF WITH PS3 AND LAUGH AT JAPAN AND EUROPE AND SAY HAHA WE GOT MORE THAN YOU!!! HAHA you're an **** Anyways yeah nice one sony on the european launch...the friday after this announcement both me and my friend J purchased Xbox 360s...reading on several forums hours after the announcement we're not the only ones. The ps3 WILL sell out on launch and for the first few months due to lack of supply against demand...but how many customers will have you have lost by that time to continue that demand throughout the year and after. Christmas is coming, people want a console and you have a 360, which to the average gamer looks no different than the ps3 (as coders cant even thread correctly on this 7 cpu cell and doesn't make for quick ports of pc/360 games) and a wii that will be no more than £149. Sony get you head out your arse, stop being so cocky and for once just provide. I was a certain customer for november (i own a ps1, bought a ps2 as soon as i could get one in a shop in march 01, and got a psp for last christmas) and i bought my 360 assuming i would sell it in march to pay towards my ps3...after the polished xbox live experience and some great games (fight night, table tennis, dead rising etc) i certainly wont be selling my 360 any more and i very much doubt ill be buying my ps3 within the first year if at all. Sony you just really dont know how to treat your customers and it will be the downfall of you eventually, no matter how loyal and how excited we are about your technology, as well be just too bitter to give you money.

Yeah, Greg i don't blame you for giving up on twin snakes...the gamecube pad and control system ruined that game, it certainly didn't seem as intuitive and natural as the ps1 version. It was designed for the ps pad...its a shame as i wanted to like it for the updated graphics and the touches they brought in from mgs2...but i ended up going back to my ps1 version. A lot of people saying they haven't played shadow of the collossus...you must. There's nothing like it, it's maybe worth renting it for a few days as once you complete it it's quite likely you wont play it again, but trust me its the most unique playing experience i have had in a long time. All those missing HL2 must also play that too, but go for the pc version, the xbox version is horrible...chugging along with its nasty texture....you only need a 2ghz with a 9600xt/9800pro to run it fairly decently (medium-high graphics, steady frame rate). Games i should play (thankfuly i have played most the classics throughout the years): 1-Resident evil 4...i own this on the ps2 but never finished it, got fairly far but really need to finish this one at some point. 2-Loco Roco...well it came out friday and i should already own it by now, but i will...love the demo...getting the tshirt. 3-Grim fandango, i always loved the styling of this game and really wanted to play it but i feel i've missed the boat. I may pick it up though. 4-Daxter...got rated the best psp game by ign...supposed to rock. I can't help but feel its gonna be very nicely done and well polished, but just another jak and daxter game. Kinda like spyro, crash bandicoot and ratchet and clank were...they're just not hardcore enough like mario 64...nothing quite matches the sheer briliance of that game 5-Elder scrolls IV....same problem as guy...i own it but have never got round to playing it. First because i finally started playing World of Warcraft which has me hooked, and secondly because i feel its going to chug on my pc if i want it looking pretty (athlon 64+ 3400, x800gto, 1gb ram). I wont be buying a 360 for this neither.
