Like someone else mentioned, I think a lot of the reason that Pokemon is considered a kids' game, is that it's tied into the cartoon show, as well as all the toys that are readily available at any Walmart. That they're all essentially the same game with different colour titles, doesn't help the perception. That being said, I loves me some Pokemon, and I'm not ashamed to play in public, no matter how much Pikachu squeels.

Even though nothing will be better than a numbered DQ game, Monsters Joker will be a good fill-in until then. ASK_Story

With that, I wholeheartedly agree. :)

I usually have an RPG in one game slot, and a "quickie" game in the other. For example, right now I'm playing Shining Force on GBA, so I have Clubhouse Games in the DS slot, should I need something to do for a short while. When I get DQM: Joker for DS, I'll put Tetris in the GBA slot.

i agree, tons of girls love nintendogs, and pokemon is too complex, and i am sure you can find a horse or barbie game or somethingCheagle

Holy sexist remarks, Batman! I don't mean to blow your mind or anything, but not ALL girls are into horsies and barbies and all things pink.

ANYWAY. To the original poster, MY 6-year-old daughter LOVES Pokemon Diamond, but she reads really well - something to keep in mind; the game does require some reading. Mine also loves Animal Crossing, and all things Mario. I am going to get her Drawn to Life for Xmas, because she really enjoys drawing in Tux Paint (Mac program), and it looks like a fun game. I personally think the Petz games are lame; if you think she'd like a pet care game, I'd definitely stick to Nintendogs.

I love RPGs (my favourites are Dragon Warrior/Quest, Shining force 1-2, Phantasy Star 4, Magical Starsign). I also like Clubhouse Games, Tetris, and some of the Sonic and Mario games. I also loved Caesar III for PC, but I never play it anymore.

Hello, all! I just joined; I am Renee, in my 30's and still happily gaming. I started playing my cousin's Atari, then got my own NES (Dragon Warrior got me hooked for life!) and eventually a Sega Genesis. Right now we have a GameCube and a PS2, but mostly I prefer to play remakes of old classics on my DS. Right now I'm playing Shining Force: Ressurection of the Dark Dragon, but I also love the Dragon Warrior/Quest and Final Fantasy games, as well as some of the new RPGs (Magical Starsign, Tao's Adventure). I also play sim-type games and puzzle/board/card games, and of course classics like Mario and Sonic.

When I'm not gaming, I spent time with my husband and kids (all gamers) and my four cats (who don't game, but like to sit on the DS while I'm trying to play). I'm also into photography and enjoy messing around on my Mac and designing web sites, and keeping saltwater tanks. And... that's about all I can think of.

I'm happy to find this union; it's good to meet other gamers who have decent spelling and don't think it's weird that someone over 20 actually still plays video games! :)

Zoo Tycoon DS... I *loved* the PC version, but it just didn't work on the small screen, plus the controls are wonky.

I would like Shining Force 2 ported either to GBA (like SF1) or DS, and then the other Shining Force games (the ones made for Saturn or Game Gear, or unreleased in the US) brought to NDS.

Dragon Quest 4-5.

Phantasy Star 4!!!

Toe Jam & Earl: Panic on Funkatron.

...I think that would hold me for a while. :)
