Okay, I am definitely not a professional. I don't know how to compare them without seeing them in person and there isn't a Microcenter anywhere near me....what about Best Buy?
Well if your PC can't run a game or play a hi def movie then your monitor won't help you. The best monitor in the world is limited by the PC so that is probably one of the reasons people spend a lot of time and energy on the computer itself (although I understand the importance of monitors). Unfortunately I don't know how to compare an IPS by a TN because I don't have 2 to put side by side.
^Wow, I didn't realize they lasted so long...well I guess I will definitely buy an IPS panel. I don't know if I will spend $450 (That is close to a third of what my PC cost me), but if it lasts ten years then I will look at some much more expensive ones.... thanks for the info. :)
Okay thanks, it seems like IPS is the monitor type to get, but are there any sites where they sell these monitor for less than $250 dollars? I don't want to sound cheap, but I was hoping to not get into the $300 to $400 range.
@jedinat Okay I didn't realize that it was that big of a difference. How can I tell the difference when I look at monitor specs? I don't see anything at all about TN and IPS.
@Istuffedsunny I am only looking at using two monitors if I have a big project I am working on where I need the extra screen. Otherwise I am going to probably stick to one monitor. What is the response time? I didn't see anything about it on Amazon.
@STAR_Admiral The reason I want to buy it online is because I believe that the pricing is a bit better. Plus like jedinat said the selection is much more limited. I do not know what the difference is between a TN panel and an IPS. My plan is to buy a really nice monitor for my 360 and movies. The other monitor just needs to be 19" or more and I just need decent quality for web surfing and for writing documents.
