metal gear 4: subsistence. thats what it will be,just upgraded things. thats what i think 360 metal gear game. the two eyes remind me of the wii. FalcoLX
Hmm, sounds plausible. I just figured that Konami wouldn't waste time on an upgraded port, just start a fresh game. I guess they want that 360 money now.

Konami always releases an upgraded version later, substance even came out on original xbox. I'd buy a Metal Gear Solid 4: Sublimation.

This is true, but nobody seems to remember how poorly the port of MGS2 came out for xbox. It went from an almost constant 60fps on ps2 to sub 30s on xbox. MGS4, even more so, is tailor made to be run on PS3. I don't think we'll see a more specialized game engine until killzone 2 or god of war comes out.

Well, as I said earlier, the teaser states: "A next Metal Gear is..." Emphasis on the word NEXT. I don't think they'd word it that way if they were planning on porting over MGS4. And the exclamation points literally point to a particular series. And to the above poster on RE4. Capcom said that if RE4 were to be ported to PS2 that it would be noticably downgraded graphics wise, which it WAS. They never said it wasn't possible.

It's something to do with Metal Gear Ac!d on the iPhone. Nothing to do with MGS4 or the 360.Floppy_Jim
Then whats with the green font?

Coincedence, it's a darker shade of green than the Xbox 360 green.

No, it's a darker shade of green so that they don't get sued by MS. It makes no sense for them to put that symbol in the tease if they're not referring to the 360. That symbol has stronger ties to that system than perhaps the x in a bubble does. Imagine if a basketball player just inked a shoe deal with nike. They put a teaser up on their website involving a check mark. It'd be plainly obvious that they're referring to nike. Just as it's plainly obvious that konami is referring the 360 here.

Yea, it's not MGS4. It will be something on 360. Most likely a new AC!D game for XBLA. Wouldn't be a MGS4 port because, if you played the game, you'd know that there are just too many litle details wrapped up in the PS universe. Such as snake using a sixaxis to control Mk. II and the comments that otacon makes towards the end about blu ray being such a great storage medium. Also, due to the way the localization was handled, they wouldn't be able to do metal gear on 360. The game's entire soundtrack is in like 4 or 5 languages. That's what's eating up all that blu ray space. Also, Konami seems to have learned their lesson from Substance on the Xbox not to port highly specialized engines to strange environments. We didn't see MGS3 on xbox for a reason.... I would love to think that it's a port of MGS to XBLA, but that also doesn't make any sense because the teaser is referencing the NEXT metal gear, not a retread. So, that little tidbit combined with the coloration and the explanation points leads me to believe that it's going to be a new entry in the AC!D series on XBLA. I say all the better for konami. get that decent franchise off the failing psp. O yea, we all know that that's the universal symbol for power, but come on...

Hey guys, looking for a bit of help. I'm looking for a good 20 or 22" lcd monitor for my setup. My old samsung 206BW blew up several months ago and I havn't taken the time since then to replace it. I'm now in the market. I want something with good solid contrast and good color reproduction. And hopefully something with decent black levels (I got a 42" pioneer plasma almost a year ago and have since been absolutely spoiled in the black level department). I'm hoping to spend no more than about $350. Also, the size isn't a major concern. If there's a 20" monitor that costs just as much as a 22" but has better contrast and color, I'd rather go with that. Also, 1080p resolution is not a must, 1680x1050 will do just fine. Any recommendations?

So, my xbox was running great last night. I was enjoying NFS Undercover earlier in the day and Left 4 Dead at night with some friends. Booted my Xbox up today after some morning classes and get prompted for the update, click download. I walk out of the room for a few minutes and come back to red lights flashing. Thanks Microsoft.

So, wait... You were ENJOYING NFS undercover?! Well I think that's your explanation right there my friend. Bad karma.
would i be better off with http://www.ibuypower.com/ibp/store/configurator.aspx?mid=194
That's a start. Now all you need to do is switch out that power supply for a better one. It may seem like it never ends with where money needs to be spent, but when looking at a pc of this calibur you can't skimp on things, especially not the power supply.

what are you smoking? i could build that AND sell it to someoen for 800 bucksmuchmoneyg

I'd like to see you find HALF of those components for less than 800 bucks. Anyways, seems like a pretty good system. I'd try springing for the 640meg 8800 GTS though. We're gonna be seeing some games (crysis) that are really gonna be able to use the extra texture memory.

OK, but here's the problem: This guy's posting on gamespot, so lets assume that gaming if of high priority. I there really going to be anything any time soon that is going to take advantage of more than two cores? No. The only game I've heard of that is going to is Alan Wake, and who knows when that's coming out. I'd say go for a dual core setup now, unless you're into alot of productive and creative software, such as 3d rendering, which would actually take advantage of the extra cores. Otherwise, just save some cash and get a dual core that would perform just as well if not better than the quad.

I just installed a core2 duo e4300, gigabyte ds3, and windows vista. While I was installing halo 2 I realized that I'm really tired of the low roar that my current plextor drive(check out model in sig)makes when it spins up a disc. Can anyone recommend a good, quiet SATA dvd-rw drive? Speed isn't of priority here. I'm mainly looking for quiet. Thanks in advance.
